A place that knows how to welcome, not just serve. La Taverna della Scala is one of those places where you gladly return, because it leaves you with something more than just good food. Warm environment, with attention to detail, with a quiet and no-frills atmosphere. The staff is kind, attentive, present at the right time. The cuisine is the real strong point: traditional dishes, well executed, with clear flavors and quality ingredients. You can feel that there is passion behind every course. The recommended wine was perfect to accompany dinner. Fair prices, generous portions, punctual service. A restaurant where you eat well and feel at home. Highly recommended for those looking for authenticity and taste.

La comida es espectacular... y el trato impecable... cada vez que viajo a Roma es parada obligatoria... Era el 90 cumpleaños de nuestra abuela y le sacaron hasta una bengala con cumpleaños feliz en italiano... momento impagable... volveremos

Très agréable soirée au Tonnarello. Service au petit soin grâce à Haider, qui nous a chaleureusement conseillé sur les vins et plats de la carte. L’endroit est prisé (sans réservation), on s’y sent bien. C’est simple, l’ambiance est chill et la pizza était à tomber. Une bonne petite adresse tranquille à faire en couple ou entre amis!

29/08/2025: We had a great meal there; this restaurant was recommended to us by an Italian woman who knows the place. We had pasta (the medium portion is already difficult to finish) and a tiramisu: we enjoyed it! P.S.: Some say the carbo pasta is too salty; having eaten several in Rome, they're no saltier than the others.
27/08/2025: As a person I usually only post reviews for places that I think deserve it and this place is the best place I’ve eaten outside of my country and even if I compared it to the restaurants at home it would be in the top 3 maybe even higher, the attention was excellent the only place where the people serving spoke Spanish and English and talking to the servers you could the joy of working in a restaurant. To finalize I would like to use the words that the son of the owner told me When you enter this restaurant you do it as a client when you return you do it as a friend

04/09/2025: The carbonara and cacio e pepe are excellent. Friendly staff. Recommended.
03/09/2025: Since Alessandro moved to the other restaurant, the service has dropped significantly. Alessia, if she's not mistaken (the one who makes the TikTok videos), isn't up to the task of providing waitress service (I'd rather have flu). Slow service, and terrible starters.
