Dans une petite rue un peu à l'écart, on se régale des poissons du jour. Nous avons choisi des dorades grillées qui étaient délicieuses. L'accueil est aimable. Une adresse sympa.

Ottimo ristorante di pesce nel cuore del porto di Pozzuoli. Pesce freschissimo cucinato in modo originale senza perdere la tradizione. Una menzione speciale per Francesco, responsabile di sala, che ci ha consigliato con competenza e professionalità dal vino da abbinare ai piatti, alle portate. Davvero bravo e cordiale. Ritorneremo.

Il Vistamare Restaurant

11/05/2026: Introduction My restaurant review process is inspired by Alessandro Borghese's "4 Restaurants": I'll give 4 ratings based on location, menu, service, and bill. Location A truly beautiful location: the restaurant overlooks the sea, the structure is modern, and upon entering, you can sense the attention to detail and care taken with the restaurant's image. That said, there were a few things that left me perplexed. It was a Sunday evening, and scuffs and scratches were clearly visible on the restaurant's windows, quite high up; with the dim lighting, the reflections are noticeable, and in a restaurant of this caliber, they clash a bit with the idea of ​​elegance they're trying to convey. There were four of us: they pushed two tables together, but they didn't match in height, and we ended up with different wine glasses—small details, but they're immediately noticeable in a restaurant like this. On the other hand, overall cleanliness was good: I found no dust or obvious signs of dirt, and the bathroom was spotless, despite the constant coming and going of people. Precisely for this reason, those small imperfections surprised me even more, because they contrast with the precision in the waiters' attire and the care perceived upon entry. RATING: 7 Menu The menu was extensive, with many interesting choices and prices that, overall, seemed fair for the type of restaurant and the offerings, with the exception of a few bottles of wine and champagne costing over €5,000, out of reach for most people. Precisely because I consider this a "top-quality" establishment, I expect the quality of the dishes to be in line with the setting and its ambitions. Unfortunately, this was not the case. One of the first courses was left out because, in my opinion, it was inedible: I hate to write this, but that was our experience. The scampi cream risotto needs a complete overhaul: too much, too much cream, to the point of overpowering the flavor of the fish and making the dish heavy. The appetizer, on the other hand, was generally good, and the dessert was well-executed and enjoyable. This isn't a complete failure, but rather reflects a cuisine that, at least for the first courses we tried, in my opinion, doesn't live up to the setting. RATING: 6 Service I have very little to criticize about the service. Aside from a small initial mistake by the waitress (the wine ended up in the water glass), everything went smoothly after that. The staff was always present without being intrusive, good at offering advice and attentively attending to the table. The maître d' in particular was impeccable: professional, friendly, and very attentive to everyone's needs, contributing decisively to the success of the evening in terms of hospitality. RATING: 10 Bill Considering the quality of the ingredients, the beachfront location, and the level of service, I'd say overall it's reasonable. If you're eating fish, with two bottles of wine and one of Prosecco, €80 per person isn't out of line for a restaurant of this type. That said, I still have the feeling that, with better fish preparation and more focused first courses, the same bill would have been perceived as much more justified. With the cuisine at the same level as the location and service, the bill would have been at least a couple of points higher. RATING: 7 Would I recommend it? Yes, but with one important caveat: if the cuisine improves, especially the first courses and the sauces, this restaurant can truly compete with many other seafood restaurants in the area. For now, I recommend it to those who place great importance on location and service and are perhaps willing to overlook some dishes that aren't perfectly on point, with the hope that the cuisine will soon catch up with the rest. I'm sincerely sorry to have given such harsh judgments on certain aspects, especially knowing the family that runs the restaurant, but I prefer to be honest and constructive: precisely because the potential is so great, it's even more disappointing to see certain details that aren't quite right.
02/05/2026: Welcoming, friendly, and professional, in a wonderful location...practically on the sea. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked, and the prices weren't too high considering the quality of the dishes, especially the freshly caught fish. Under Ezio's supervision, attention to detail, and expertise, we enjoyed an unforgettable lunch... Absolutely not to be missed.
