Taverna dei Consoli In Assisi

On Friday, October 10, 2025, we have a birthday celebration, and remembering a previous experience, I decided to recommend this restaurant. The restaurant is simple and elegant, with stone walls and beautiful paintings, some of which depict the city of Assisi itself. We were warmly welcomed upon entry and reluctantly decided not to dine on the wonderful terrace overlooking the square (unfortunately, it was a windy evening). Once seated, we were presented with a simple menu of traditional dishes, including the fillet steak with Sagrantino reduction and truffle, a truly commendable dish. The extensive wine list emphasizes local producers but also includes Italian and international wines, especially French sparkling wines. The impeccable and particularly fast service pleasantly surprised us. The price was excellent, in line with the location, menu, and service. The owner was friendly and told us a little anecdote about his "Amatriciana." Go try it!

We arrived late without a reservation, but the owner welcomed us with open arms. He recommended a delicious first course (a generous portion) on a magnificent terrace overlooking Assisi's main square. Excellent value, with a regional and national wine list. Recommended.

A very elegant location with a beautiful terrace overlooking the Piazza del Comune, it offers a highly refined menu. The wine list is excellent. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable (trust the owner...), and the quality/price ratio is excellent. Highly recommended.

Excellent dishes made with high-quality ingredients, friendly and helpful staff, located in the center of Assisi. You can dine on the terrace overlooking the little square in a charming and romantic atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable!!! Definitely a place worth visiting if you're in the area. For our only dinner in Assisi, we chose the Taverna dei Consoli restaurant, impressed by the positive reviews and photos of the dishes. As soon as we arrived, with reservations, we were asked whether we preferred to sit in one of the indoor rooms or on the terrace overlooking the Piazza Municipio. We chose the terrace, where we began with an appetizer of cured meats and cheeses, torta al testo, and bruschetta with chicken livers and truffles; everything was delicious, but we expected at least two cheeses, not just one. Next, we chose tagliatelle with truffle and pappardelle with red wild boar ragù. The fresh pasta was excellent with its sauces, and the wild boar was beautifully marinated, with a delicate, light flavor. Next, we chose the veal fillet with a Sagrantino reduction and truffle, pairing it with an excellent red wine from Cantina Antonelli. The restaurant is highly recommended for its good food, helpfulness and attentiveness of the owners and staff.
