Taverna dei Capitani In Malcesine

A small, nice restaurant (tavern) in the backyard – without a lake view, but with absolutely delicious food and incredibly friendly service...

The oysters were very good. The staff is very friendly. We only had salads so can’t review the main meat based plates. The tuna and palazzi were okay but the greek one was not really greek style salad and the bread that comes with it is a bit tasteless

I wonder why the restaurants in Malcesine all have four plus reviews? Admittedly, it's a lot better than the "standard tourist fare" we experienced in Garda three years ago, and by comparison, it was good! I had the tagliolini with wild boar sauce: so-so! My partner had the calamari pasta, and we've had considerably better ones for €20. It's not really good, but not bad either. Personally, I find the prices too high for a few pasta dishes. But that applies to all the restaurants here, and this one is "in the middle" and in line with the other restaurants we visited in Malcesine. In the end, we had a bill of €65, without really filling us up. But even that's a "good" average here. Note: I couldn't find a current menu online that we were able to order from yesterday.

Super delicious food, unfortunately, there were a few mistakes with the ordering. We didn't get a place setting, and our drink orders were forgotten, but overall the staff was very friendly and helpful! I think it was due to the stress and the busy restaurant. Overall, the food is highly recommended!

Excellent venue. Homemade food, from pasta to desserts. The bigoli with sardines are stratospheric, the sorbet revisited with top marks. All the table service guys are quick and courteous. We were served by William who explained the menu to us with kindness and professionalism and recommended it very well, an added value for the place. We will definitely be back. Our point of reference in Malcesine. Well done.

The ambience is really nice and you can see that effort is also made in the service. The only thing we didn't like was the food - you should probably order seafood because they seem to be able to do that. The pasta was very bland, the meat was a bit dry and unfortunately without sauce, and all the dishes were only slightly warm. It's a real shame, the restaurant had great potential.

The absolutely nicest ristorante in Malcesine. Charming, charming service!!!! In the party canyons of Malcesine. Why does this all remind me of a beautiful old sailor's bar? Maybe the tables in the archway...? Large house, slightly higher prices than in the area. But the chef really has it! We sat for dinner in the wind-protected corner under the loudspeaker. And a few days later just for a good bottle of wine (Lugana Ca die Frati) in the courtyard. Totally mixed crowd, service responds to the craziest wishes. The beef chop was actually heavenly. And actually... everything else too. Love it!

Carinissimo posto consigliatoci da un cameriere di un bar sul porto, ampia sala interna ma molto bello in posto in giardino. Ottima la carne salada ed anche la trota, la griglia era un pò bruciacchiata. Ottimo il dessert con un limone riempito di budino al limone. Buon servzio

Siamo arrivati per caso in questa tavernetta , ottima accoglienza da parte dei ragazzi. Menù vario per tutti i gusti, noi abbiamo mangiato la tagliata di manzo che era buonissima, prezzi sulla norma. Locale sicuramente da consigliare.
