Traditional place. Excellent and plentiful dishes but without exaggerating. Spectacular Giudia style artichokes*. Got tagliatelle with pecorino artichokes and black pork, top marks. We had lunch at the Cestia tavern, Romanità himself, everything was excellent, food, service and price, I recommend it to anyone who is near the Circus Maximus.

We had a quick lunch, three different first courses but all good. The exuberant but courteous and attentive waiter. We ate in the outdoor gazebo but I thought the place was nice. Excellent focaccia and bread. Fair price. I highly recommend it if you are in the area

Great menu, nice place and friendly staff

Honestly we expected better from this tavern a few steps from the Cestia pyramid. We started with a courgette flower and a supplì. Both with breading and frying tending towards limpness. But while the flower recovered thanks to an abundant and tasty filling, the supplì remained in a limbo of mediocrity with a fairly flat flavor and slightly overcooked rice. The perfectly fried Giudia artichoke, large and tasty, is excellent. Next we tried a carbonara and an amatriciana. For both of us a big no to the bacon because, although plentiful, in both the first courses it was not crunchy, but almost dry, very thin and consequently also too salty. Even for the first courses, if the amatriciana recovered points thanks to an excellent puree of peeled tomatoes, the carbonara was confirmed as mediocre with a cream that was not creamy enough, but rather tending towards liquid, which produced the effect of decidedly bland forkfuls , alternating with others, those that had caught the bacon, decidedly salty. Let's add for both dishes too little pecorino and the total absence of any hint of pepper, and the judgment on the first courses is complete. For dessert, a good tiramisu, in the form of three ladyfingers on a flat plate covered with a good cream and cocoa, where the balance of sweet and bitter was excellent, a pity that a crunchy part was missing which would have elevated the dish to excellent. Overall, therefore, in our opinion the place is still a question mark, given that we tried both excellent and mediocre dishes, and this left us with the idea of ​​"good but sometimes it doesn't apply" and meant that this review of ours be severe, but more to stimulate than for real demerit. The waiters are very appreciable, very Roman and with that savoir faire de noatri that always makes a Roman trattoria wonderful.

Insieme a vari amici siamo andati per una cena veloce in questo storico locale vicino alla Piramide e molto comodo anche per chi non ha l'auto essemdo la metro B vicinissima ( aperta fino alle 01,30 solo venerdi e sabato). Servizio cortese e molto solerte con tovaglie e tovaglioli classici . Risotto alla crema di scampi buono (14 euro), puntarelle e carciofi fritti (6/8 euro) . Varietà di pizze a prezzi molto bassi ( 10 euro con i funghi) , dolci a 5 euro,per la qualità del locale che grazie al servizio veloce riesce a soddisfare molta clientela. Un indirizzo insomma sempre valido e sicuro specie se si è in molti. Parcheggio non difficile sul vialone.

Inizio autunno. Bella insalata di porcinotti crudi e grana e una scarola con le olive napolitan style. Il vino alla mescita non male. Tavolo open air piacevole con vista punta piramide…… Celerita’ e gentilezza
