Taverna Buonvicino In Amalfi

What can I say!? It's expensive but rightly so! The ambience is the most beautiful you can have in Amalfie and that's saying something! Unfortunately I can't remember the waiter's name but he was perfect! And he looked as Italian as one can look :p Thanks for the service! Everything was really excellent, only the food didn't quite match the level of service and ambience, but still good, it was a great experience from start to finish!

Characteristic and welcoming little square one step away from the crowd, excellent cuisine using local products, we ate: lobster linguino, appetizer with octopus, mussel soute and delicate lemon cake. Courteous table service. We will be back!

Amazing restaurant which we ( Family of 4, boys 11 & 14) visited twice during a short stay in Amalfi. Beautiful courtyard away from the crowd but with its own unique atmosphere. Salvatore and the rest of the team looked after us, very helpful and knowledgable. The food was absolutely amazing on both of our visits whether it was seafood, pasta, steak, desert..Best in Amalfi. no question.

Good taste, the daily specials were a lobster pasta, fresh fish and a mussels and cherry tomatoes starter. All were good. My partner ordered the lemon anchovy linguine which she was warned would be salty. It was too salty for her but I enjoyed it with my white wine. I had the shrimp with zucchini with fuscilli which tasted good as well. Compared against the anchovy dish it didn't have the same punch but my partner enjoyed mine more. The dessert had a very strong taste of alcohol in the sponge cake so be aware.

Super food, great service, frequented by locals and tourists

This was a recommendation from our hotel and it did not disappoint. For sure need reservations if you’re going to grab a premier seat outdoors. Be sure to bring an extra layer as it was chilly at night. Note we were here early October.

Avoid the tourist traps and come straight to la Taverna Buonvicino, you will not regret it. I had the best pasta I've ever eaten and you can tell everything is made fresh and with passion and love for good Italian cuisine. Their little patio was beautiful, but I highly recommend making a reservation if you want to eat outside especially.

Food - they are generally delicious in such a touristic area. No complaint. Their lobster linguine was worth a try, by using local lobster. Service - it started not bad with some nice recommendations of wine and how it was served. However, the waiter and waitress became aggressive and pushy in the middle constantly trying to clear the plate and looked unhappy that we ordered another main (which was the lobster linguine). The bread was threw back to the table after realizing there was an additional main coming. We, a group of 3 people, spent 213 Euro and handed over the table on time within 1.5 hours. When we left the restaurant, no one knew restaurant has ever said “thank you”, and just walked out quietly like nothing has happened I must say, it is a shame with the their tasty food.

A wonderful and charismatic restaurant away from the main square, you have to walk up some steps and know where this is, but once you find it you will be happy that you made the effort. We had entrecote steak the first night and reigned for the lobster linguine on tje 2nd night. Staff are wonderful and look out for Salvadore, the super friendly Antonio Banderas lookalike!

Beautiful setting and amazing staff. The food was incredible, the fish was delightful but the three fried pizzas was not a favorite. We had the chocolate dessert which was a full sensory experience. I would come back again and again.
