Tanuki Izakaya In Roma

If you want to try Japanese food rather than sushi, Tanuki is a must try! The interior and decoration is authentically Japanese. The owner is also Japanese. The food is very nice. I highly recommend trying the skewers and teriyaki. However, the noodles with meet tomatoe sauce does not live up to the expectation. Love the sweet grape sake for dessert! Would definitely come back.

Nice place. But at least for what I ordered, Japan is too far away (especially for Ton katsu and Umeshu liqueur)

Very nice place in Japanese izakaya style, the atmosphere is intimate and convivial at the same time, we tried the ramen and it was excellent, the takoyaki also deserve a chance, very soft and delicious.

Small place made up of two rooms, the first larger one with normal tables and a smaller and more characteristic internal room. It is a Japanese restaurant that offers classic dishes of traditional cuisine, you will not find sushi or sashimi. Wide choice of spirits which we didn't try this time, opting for a Japanese beer on tap. A cuisine with delicate and balanced flavours, excellent dry udon both with prawns and pork and gyoza. Among the yakitori, the Moci bacon is very tasty even if the portion is a bit small in proportion to the price, the same goes for the vegetable tempura, crunchy and freshly made but a very small portion. We also recommend trying the octopus balls with cheese (takoyaki). To conclude, a Japanese cheesecake accompanied by two sauces, you don't expect the classic cheesecake flavor but it is still appreciated. Courteous service and at the time of payment we were also offered a small glass of Japanese plum liqueur. Overall positive experience but in our opinion really expensive.
