Japanese restaurant where you won't find the usual sashimi, nigiri, uramaki...etc. but many other typical Japanese dishes.

I am not a fan of oriental cuisine however I have eaten in various restaurants.
I have to say that Tanuky is the best!!!..the staff are all very nice and welcoming, the environment is clean and tidy, despite not being excessively large there is no confusion.
The food???.Excellent..!!! Excellent choice of ingredients, all very tasty and good, not heavy.!
The stuffed courgette flowers are truly something exceptional, the fried food is dry...good fried food!!...
I must admit that it was really pleasant to have dinner and satisfying to eat at Tanuky.... we will return to visit them!!

I wanted to try Tanuki with my partner on a special day; being both fans of Japanese cuisine and culture and having visited authentic Japanese places in Tokyo and Kanazawa, obviously we didn't hope to be able to breathe that atmosphere in a Roman neighborhood, however we pleasantly changed our minds having found in this izakaya much of the atmosphere that we breathed there. And this not only in the environment, also in the food and service.
Many different courses all excellently made, with also a lot of variety in the drinks. Attentive and precise service as well as very punctual. Pleasantly surprised by the takoyaki with cheese, which are soft as in the tradition of the rising sun, compared to the crispy fried balls that can be found in all-you-can-eat restaurants, although I would have liked to taste more of the octopus inside. Even the dessert and the recommended sake proved to be a winning combination that distinctly closed an already excellent meal.
Obviously the sore point comes at the moment of the bill, which as far as I can understand the excellent level of service offered always makes one turn up their nose a little when every time you eat a particular ethnic cuisine you have to be ready to shell out a lot more than the intrinsic value of the dishes.
Furthermore, there was a lack of service or presentation features of a real izakaya, in addition to the fact that one can easily eavesdrop on other people's conversations, as there are often different diners sitting at the same table and separated by a simple curtain, which makes a scene for goodness' sake, but certainly leaves no room for intimacy.
The waiters may seem a little cold but they are attentive and respectful of the customer.
Having clarified these things, for a place of this type which is unique in Rome, I feel comfortable giving the highest marks, albeit with the note that it can always be done better.

Peccato forse i tavoli troppo vicini .

An excellent place for a quality quiet dinner, with an original à la carte menu, it is far from the usual all you can eat options found everywhere. A good selection of drinks.

Sembra di stare in izakaya in Giappone. I piatti sono buoni anche le bevande a base di sakè o shochu. Vi consiglio!
