08/08/2025: We’ve been coming to Calanova for years, and it’s never once slipped. Sometimes it’s a pleasant, lazy lunch to celebrate something, sometimes a romantic evening when the light’s just right, and sometimes for no reason at all, other than knowing it’s going to be good.
It’s hard to beat the setting: tables under old cork trees, the sea right there, and that quiet elegance that doesn’t try too hard. The menu changes with the catch, but there are standouts we always look forward to: the fresh, crisp misticanza, perfectly cooked verdesca, honey-glazed octopus, paccheri with monkfish, pink grapefruit and olive powder, a tiramisù worth guarding with your life, and the caffè gourmand, which is really just permission to have dessert twice.
Service is warm, switched-on and never over the top. After so many visits, the only thing that’s changed is how quickly we book the next one.

Excellent in everything
A bit of a hassle to get there, the last stretch of the road was unpaved and quite bumpy but it was worth it
Definitely recommended
