22/01/2026: Visited on January 15, 2026. They're open even during the winter off-season. The entrance isn't particularly conspicuous (the door is a bit heavy, and the restaurant is up a flight of stairs on the first floor, or what would be called the second floor in Japan), so be careful.
I ordered sashimi (served in a boat-shaped platter like a Japanese inn!), shrimp carpaccio, seafood risotto, two small bottles of beer, and a glass of wine for €55. At the exchange rate at the time, that came to about ¥10,500, but given the weak yen, it was excellent value for money.
Japanese food abroad often has its drawbacks, but this restaurant, with its female chef, boasts fresh ingredients and outstanding flavor! Of course, the local cuisine is also delicious. The menu is in Japanese.
The owner is native Italian, but a bit shy and doesn't speak any Japanese. However, in a good way, she was diligent, visiting each table, clearing away empty plates and glasses, and checking for additional orders.
I imagine it gets quite crowded during peak season, but if you want to enjoy seafood in Syracuse, this is a restaurant you should definitely visit.
05/01/2026: This place is almost hidden away in the Aretusa promenade. I really appreciated the owner's kindness and the quality of the food.
I'll definitely be back!
