I live here so this si not a tourist review, a group of us friends arranged a luncheon when they are normally closed . From the outside it is just a door on the street with a staircase that leads you to a beautiful dining room with original vaulted ceilings and a view over Porto Grande . We were greeted by the owner and he was both friendly and attentive throughout our meal . The menu is an unusual mix of both local Italian cuisine and Japanese cuisine. It’s easy to find Italian food here but it’s nice to have a change and have some Japanese food for a change. I found it both fresh and well prepared. The food was enjoyed by all with no negative feedback from any of our group of 12 .

Very nice restaurant. In super touristy Ortigia this is probably one of the most authentic places, where there is still focus on quality. The chef is Japanese after all. The miso soup was exceptional. The raw seafood was good but lacked some refined touch. The more Italian dishes were tasty and well prepared but not exceptional. The service was correct and friendly, but very old school, meaning it was let's get to business and not so warm. All in all a good experience and we would come again when in Ortigia, where most restaurants are a bit disappointing and lack authenticity. A good choice for a reasonalble price.

this place is a true hidden gem of Siracusa. We were running on a tight schedule and almost skipped it, but we are so glad we didn't give in to the time pressure! The pasta was absolutely fantastic- fresh, authentic, and easily the best meal of our trip.

The toppings on the chirashi sushi were superb. It even had fatty tuna on top. The raw shrimp were also fresh. Before wheat gluten upsets your stomach, try adjusting with Japanese food.
When I made the reservation by phone, the Japanese wife answered, but I couldn't see her; I could only hear Japanese conversation coming from the back. It was during a long holiday weekend, so I'm sure many people were visiting.

Don’t sleep on this place! The front looks very unassuming and when you go in… it’s beautiful! Gorgeous view of the sea and incredible food!! The seafood risotto was my favourite I’ve ever had!
Very friendly staff, generous portions, delicious food!! Lovely place, would definitely recommend

What a special treat. My husband and I were recommended this restaurant and wow! It was amazing. A true gem. Great Food, service, and atmosphere. It was definitely a meal for our family to remember. We didn’t feel like a tourist and we didn’t feel rushed. It was just what we were looking for.

One of the few places left in Ortigia that truly values food. Excellent value for money. Well-cooked, no-frills food, fresh fish, and the occasional Japanese specialty.

Visited on January 15, 2026. They're open even during the winter off-season. The entrance isn't particularly conspicuous (the door is a bit heavy, and the restaurant is up a flight of stairs on the first floor, or what would be called the second floor in Japan), so be careful.
I ordered sashimi (served in a boat-shaped platter like a Japanese inn!), shrimp carpaccio, seafood risotto, two small bottles of beer, and a glass of wine for €55. At the exchange rate at the time, that came to about ¥10,500, but given the weak yen, it was excellent value for money.
Japanese food abroad often has its drawbacks, but this restaurant, with its female chef, boasts fresh ingredients and outstanding flavor! Of course, the local cuisine is also delicious. The menu is in Japanese.
The owner is native Italian, but a bit shy and doesn't speak any Japanese. However, in a good way, she was diligent, visiting each table, clearing away empty plates and glasses, and checking for additional orders.
I imagine it gets quite crowded during peak season, but if you want to enjoy seafood in Syracuse, this is a restaurant you should definitely visit.
