Taberna Santona In Sassari

A must of contemporary Sassari cuisine.

We had dinner at Taberna with a couple of friends. Super positive experience. We ordered 2 full portions (really exceptional vegetable couscous and Andalusian horse) and other various tasting portions (gateau, chili, tripe, beans all'uccelletto, stracotto). All really good. 2 liters of draft beer, water, and 4 homemade desserts. Total just over 100 euros. Absolutely recommended. Mr. Santona is very kind, as are all the girls who work there. We will return 100%.

The staff is lovely and the vegetables are excellent because they are fresh. This is the best chocolate cake I have tasted in my life. We highly recommend!

Recommended! Authentic food without a fixed menu. You choose a portion (normal or large) and order at least 2 dishes from the daily menu. You can then order another round. Desserts are also very tasty. Service is friendly and the square is pleasantly busy. Even the bill is friendly.

I come in by chance. Very small place with old cheap trattoria tables, an ancient counter, dark red and white walls with old tools hanging on them, a bit of a musty smell... The atmosphere is crazy and wonderful: a particular place that seems to travel through time and maybe even space... You could even be in Paris or Prague or... who knows... Menu with few dishes but with excellent cuisine that opens the dinner with a soup that is a creation of the "Oste-chef" (a magical melting pot of tastes masterfully combined with a fantastic result) and closes it with a truly special chocolate cake , creation of the "Ostessa-chef". I accompanied it all with an excellent glass of "house" red: native vine, little prestige and lots of quality. The service is also special: great courtesy and friendliness while the physical closeness with the staff gives the pleasant sensation of being at dinner with friends. Modest prices and very high quality/price ratio. Absolutely recommended place: well done!

What a pleasure to dine in this authentic and pleasant place! Alessandro, his daughter (who did a good job of convincing us to have that chocolate cake), and the rest of the staff are incredibly nice. The dishes transport you to Sardinia and immerse you in the family world of Alessandro (and his daughter) as well as in their travels! Hoping to meet them again one day!
