I came for lunch with a friend. Nice place, average atmosphere. Service was sterile and dull, both at the reception and at the table. The food was good, but nothing that particularly impressed me. The numerous positive reviews on Google created unrealistic expectations for the experience. I wouldn't return.

The restaurant is a bit out of the way, so it's nice to eat outside.
The food is well-presented and of good quality.
The service is excellent, and they accept dogs!

The food is nothing special, the prices are higher, the portions are smaller. There is not much choice. The staff was friendly. For the high rating we expected a lot more

I had a wonderful experience at Trattoria Stano. The Orecchiette alla Murgiana was a super dish - a unique and delicious choice that I'd highly recommend. Enjoyed dining outside with a glass of good wine, which perfectly complemented the meal. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was excellent.Trattoria Stano is a great choice.

Stano is a trattoria where you can find typical Lucanian food.
It offers a rather unusual tasting menu for €45 (excluding drinks and cutlery), giving you the opportunity to try several traditional dishes. For my taste, the portions are a bit small, at least for the pasta dishes.
Lovely service, and they offered us the option to change one of the main courses since one of my friends doesn't eat lamb.
Minimalist and thoughtful decor. It has two indoor dining rooms and a terrace.

Found this restaurant in the Moon "Guide to Southern Italy." So glad we went. Waitress was very professional, knew the food, and listened to my food preferences, just as all wait staff in Italy do usually do. Such a pleasure to eat in Italy! We ordered a large veal steak and veggies, and lamb and potatoes, both were perfect dishes, perfectly prepared. The hard part was trying to walk to the restaurant in downtown Matera using google maps - does not work!

Buoni piatti , da migliorare il servizio un pó lento 40 min di attesa tra antipasto e primo un pó eccessivo , tutto nella norma merita una visita ma , c'é di meglio in zona
