Excellent Italian, "modernized" food

A highly advertised trattoria. We went there to try the Pignata Lucana (which we knew, being Neapolitan, we wouldn't like, but we wanted to try it anyway). We ended up having the tasting menu for €45, which is great value. There are four different appetizers on the same plate, two first courses, one second course, and a dessert. The bread with olive oil was also good. What we didn't like about the menu was the mixed pasta paired with the single ravioli with ricotta and cinnamon, and the dessert. The appetizer was doable, especially the mashed potatoes with crumbled sausage.

We had lunch at this lovely restaurant yesterday, with incredibly kind and helpful staff. To start, they served us bread with olive oil, which was simply exceptional. We then ordered traditional appetizers, all very good and original. The revisited fava bean and chicory meatballs were special and truly delicious. Among the first courses, we tried several dishes; the fresh pasta with cruschi peppers and caciocavallo fondue was good, and the ricotta ravioli were also good. I wasn't as fond of the orecchiette with mushrooms and yellow cherry tomatoes, but I think that's a matter of personal taste. For main courses, the lamb was exquisite, while the donkey rib was a bit disappointing, especially considering the price. To conclude, we had desserts, which unfortunately didn't live up to the rest of the meal. The Ferrero Rocher, the revisited tiramisu, and the ricotta puff pastry were both too sweet and heavy. The lemon tartlet, however, was good. Overall, I'm not giving it the highest score because I wasn't entirely convinced by some dishes, but the place is beautiful and the food is good.

What can I say? It was my first time there. I really enjoyed the service, the waiters were very kind and the food was really good.

A quiet place with knowledgeable, friendly staff. The idea of ​​offering a taste of local olive oil and bread at the beginning was a lovely one. Traditional food with a twist. Adequate portions and tasty food. A charming, well-kept venue. Good value.

A restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere on the edge of the Sassi. The menu offers local cuisine and that's what I chose. The tasting mix of appetizers was delicious. This was followed by the Pignata which was the highlight of the evening. If I add to that the excellent Aglianico from the wine list and the great service, the restaurant can only be recommended.

Everything was excellent. The price was right.
