Even we missed the occasion or reason why we went here I was amazed. We had only few wines, and a mixed table of cheese and salami. Everything was high end and quality of the food was high. Maybe we were outsiders as we didn't order regular food like main dish and the waiter forgot to bring us the water for which at the end I have paid. But on the other side food was Looking perfect and I would come back for a full dinner.

A truly wonderful discovery! We were with our children, and it was an excellent dinner for both of us. The menu offered a limited selection, which I prefer and perhaps also speaks to the care and quality of the food. The dishes were delicious and served with great professionalism. The wine was truly good. It was my partner's birthday, and the staff was incredibly courteous, something you don't expect these days. The restaurant is truly beautiful, clean, and intimate. The terrace is also perfect for more romantic dinners. I'd give it six stars if it were available.

The setting on the top terrace is lovely but unfortunately we got an American country music playlist so didn’t feel like we were in Italy at all. The food was a very modern take on Italian food - my “crispy lasagna” was basically pita bread with cold Bolognaise sauce and very little seasoning. my tiramisu had barely any coffee flavor or taste. The service was great but if you are hoping for a traditional Italian venue and meal this is not for you. It was such a disappointment given it was rated quite highly and it was our last night in Europe where we have had the most incredible food all along, only to have an average meal for our last meal!

Very pleasant, elegant setting. A slight misunderstanding of the menu: two starters served instead of one, an error in the bill... Plan a good budget.

My friend and I stumbled upon Sottosopra during a walk on our first afternoon in Trastevere. We made a reservation for the rooftop garden the following evening. Alessandro was our host and he made sure our evening was nothing short of an amazing experience. Without a doubt this has been the best Italian dining we have had so far on our trip. We enjoyed homemade bread with oil and burrata, spinach as a side dish, the flavour combination in the ravioli was so refreshing. Our highlight was definitely the special - truffle fettuccine, a truly melt in your mouth heartfelt culinary experience. Do not skip on dessert. My friend said her tiramisu was the best she has had so far, very light hand made and flavourful. I had the chocolate sphere which was as amazing to look at as it was to eat. Thanks to Alessandro and the team for such a beautiful meal we will not forget.
