Excellent little restaurant in Trastevere serving revisited traditional dishes. Friendly staff and impeccable service. The atmosphere is informal, intimate, and pleasant. Definitely worth repeating.

A cute rooftop in Trastevere where I ordered a cheese plate and an old fashioned for dessert, because adulthood has a few perks, not many, but a few. It’s charming with soft string lights and soft conversations spreading around. I’m a savory dessert eater what can I say? Just what I needed.

Everything about this restaurant was absolutely phenomenal. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff made me feel truly welcome. The service was exceptional attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly.
The food was out of this world! Every bite was bursting with flavor and beautifully prepared. You can tell that a lot of care and passion go into everything they do. The attention to detail and overall presentation were flawless.
It's rare to find a place that gets everything right - ambiance, service, and food - but this restaurant truly does. I can't recommend it enough and will definitely be returning soon!

Beautiful decor but tiny portions... The service is friendly, but it's a shame they bring the main courses at the same time as the aperitifs, with lukewarm plates. The flavors, however, are excellent. In short, disappointed...

Got a table on the terrace.
Very nice, with live music playing from the next table.
All the appetizers were excellent.
All the main courses were good, except for the steak, which you should avoid.
The dessert selection was also large and very good. The staff was very friendly and competent.
Good value for money.

Beautiful and surprisingly quiet atmosphere (considering the square is crowded with hordes of tourists). The staff were very kind—especially Roberto, our point of contact, and everyone else—and attentive. The food was good, though the shrimp tartare in the spaghetti cacio e pepe was a bit too cold (I'd say freezing cold), but overall, it was very good. The bill was hefty, but I expected that. The only downside was the lack of a receipt, and I paid by card: a shame about the mistake. Still, I recommend it.

The restaurant has a very refined and appealing menu. But beware: the oysters unfortunately came with a shell, and you should always ask about the price of any special offers. The daily special, "truffle pasta," was almost twice as expensive at €60 as the most expensive pasta dish on the menu.

My BFF and I flew to Rome from the US for 72 hours. It was a very lovely whirlwind trip! While there, we took a cab out of our area (we were staying by the Spanish Steps) and dined at Sottosopra Trastevere. It was in a part of town we understood to be the best location to find upscale dining.
We selected this restaurant in particular because it looked pretty and inviting, all lit up at night, it was the closest one to where the cab dropped us, and the menu offered some sort of steak option that my friend was excited to see, I don't recall what.
The service was lovely. The interior decor was lovely. We were able to sit in a booth rather than on chairs which I greatly prefer. It was a very nice dining experience other than the particular meals we selected.
Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed with both of our meals.
Intrigued, I had ordered the krispy/crunchy (I don't recall the exact wording) lasagne. I did not carefully read the description. I just love lasagne and thought maybe the noodles were going to be over-baked on the edges (which I actually like) and chewey or perhaps would have a layer of cheese with crystallized morsels (University of Washington in the states sells this amazing sharp cheddar cheese in a tin that has crystallized morsels in it so that's where my mind was), but regardless, I assumed it would be good. When I tasted it, I was very surprised how unappealing in texture the dish was. The noodles reminded me of flavorless crackers that had become stale and the texture was brittle. The tactile sensation was very slightly reminiscent of chewing softened eggshells, and in fact that was my instant thought upon my first bite, I told my BFF "oh dear! I think the chef accidentally let some eggshell bits fall into the lasagne." But I quickly realized that it was intentional so I asked the server if perhaps the noodles were made from cornmeal. He explained they were fried rather than baked and his response seemed to indicate that I was asking because I liked the experience so much. So I assumed I was simply caught off guard and ate another bite thinking it should grow on me. It did not but it was my meal so I ate it. My BFF tried it and shared my opinion, very odd and not in a good way. I am not a "foodie" (as we call people in the states who are very involved with their food) and just because I don't care for a meal, I would never complain. If its food I eat it and move on. I don't have many motions or expectations tied to cuisine, so it is highly unlikely that I would be upset enough to bother to write a poor review over a meal that I didn't care for. And the unfortunate thing for this restaurant is that I did not intentionally write any review at all at the onset!! My finger accidentally must have hit a star on Google while my app was open to my history of places I visited, and I wrote no accompanying words obviously since it was a mistake. In fact, I was very confused to see a reply from a restaurant asking me to explain my 3 stars, which in my mind I had never reviewed in the first place.
So I found myself in this odd position of having to defend the accidental rating, which actually had I reviewed intentionally, would have been my rating.
I considered the fact that my BFF's steak was left on the plate only half-eaten because it was bloody, although we'd ordered it "medium-well," and decided the two out if two poor meals was enough to honor the restaurant's request for an explanation. If I were the restaurant, I would simply remove that lasagne option from the menu. It's a creative concept, but just an idea that did not turn out favorably at execution.
I don't recall the prices but they seemed reasonable/affordable.
I truly apologize for delivering an unfavorable review when I know the restaurant was doing its best to help me have a lovely experience. But for me, this was a miss. I wish them success but I would not return.
