A very pleasant discovery! A welcoming and well-kept place, with a menu that highlights simple but well-worked ingredients. We tried both a pasta dish and the classic risotto alla milanese: both exceptional, perfectly cooked and well-balanced flavors.
The service was friendly and attentive, and the bill was absolutely in line with the quality: honest and without surprises.
I will definitely be back, highly recommended for a lunch break or a relaxed dinner!

Locale molto piccolo, con tavolo in condivisione.
Menu molto sintetico mentre i fuori menù La sera in cui sono stata io erano numerosi e buoni (l’unico che non c’è piaciuto è la polenta taragna con fonduta di formaggi).

Lovely experience and really enjoyed our food! We arrived without reservation on a Sunday and were lucky to get a table (I suggest booking ahead). Staff was attentive and really went out of their way to help us understand what all the dishes in the menu were as we don't speak much Italian.
The food was really, really good, great wine, good dessert! The space is so nice, and tastefully decorated. I recommend for sure!

Sottobosco Milano is my neighborhood restaurant and a true pearl of Milanese cuisine! I go there often and every time it is an extraordinary experience. The menu follows seasonality, with the freshest ingredients and recipes with attention to the smallest details.
Their ragùs are stratospheric, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Furthermore, they offer particular cuts of meat, such as donkey, which are not found everywhere and which enhance tradition with a touch of originality.
The atmosphere is welcoming and warm, the staff is friendly and always ready to recommend the perfect wine for each dish. Every time I come back, I discover something new and delicious. A place to try and to always return with pleasure!

Ieri sera sono stato per la prima volta al Sottobosco con mia moglie, pur conoscendolo di vista e di fama da anni, sicuramente sarà la prima di una lunga serie. Ambiente raccolto, informale ma raffinato, ottimo cibo tradizionale milanese, curato nei dettagli e nelle materie prime, servizio attento e cordiale, insomma una trattoria tradizionale ma con particolare cura dei dettagli e della qualità. Menzione particolare per il risotto giallo con ossobuco, decisamente consigliato!
