Sosteria In Piacenza

Delicious and very intriguing cuisine. Very friendly staff.

Attracted by other reviews and the relative proximity to the B&B where I was staying, I went to La Sosteria. During the summer, the outdoor garden is open. I'm greeted by a large man with two clowns, who seats me at a table. He hands me the placemat that serves as the dinner menu and the drinks menu. As for drinks, I immediately ask for water and a medium red wine, and then ask for advice. I wanted traditional food, and he recommended the charcuterie board. Then my eye falls on the mixed platter with giardiniera, cured meats, and cheeses. And then I order horsemeat tartare. The beer arrives, followed by water, and then the platter with bread and focaccia. Fantastic, and the portions were just right for me. The pancetta melted in my mouth. The coppa was divine. The giardiniera was delicious, as were the cheeses. Once everything was finished, the horsemeat tartare arrives, along with a fresh portion of giardiniera. And salad. They brought me salt, pepper, and oil for the tartare. I ate it plain, accompanied once with giardiniera and once with whole grain mustard. The red beer accompanied everything. I woke up full and happy. I thanked the guys for the pleasant evening. I hope to return. Recommended. Well done, keep it up. .

Sosteria is a gastropub on the outskirts of Piacenza that stands out thanks to its well-constructed concept and meticulously curated food. As they describe themselves, the menu ranges from burgers, traditional dishes, and crostoni, all accompanied by a good selection of cocktails, beers, and wines. A formula that works and satisfies a wide range of tastes. One of the aspects I appreciated most was definitely the attention paid to celiac disease sufferers. It's not just a standard, forced option, but a wide and thoughtful selection, allowing everyone to find something interesting to eat without feeling limited. If the weather permits, I definitely recommend one of the outdoor tables. The garden is well-kept, bright, and very pleasant, especially on summer evenings. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, inviting you to linger longer than expected. The aperitivo appetizers are also very good: varied and delicious, perfect to accompany a beer or cocktail. I particularly appreciated the attention to artisanal preparation: the dough, bread, and fries are all homemade, and you can taste the difference in the final result. The burgers are also well-crafted, with quality ingredients and generous portions. The only real flaw is the service, which can be quite slow even when the place isn't particularly crowded. I'm not referring so much to the dishes, which are understandable given the artisanal nature of the food, but rather to the drinks, which sometimes seem excessively slow. Perhaps I'd also lower the music volume slightly, but that's a highly subjective matter. Overall, however, Sosteria is a project that exudes personality and passion. A welcoming, inclusive, and unique place, where you eat well and enjoy spending time. With a little quicker and more on-point service, it would be really hard to find any flaws.

The garden was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the price was reasonable.

Outstanding food and service. Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the staff were incredibly friendly. One of the best dining experiences we've had in Italy. Highly recommended!

A bar and restaurant in Piacenza, convenient for parking, for a quick stop for breakfast or lunch, with friendly and prompt staff. They also have a tobacconist's after the breakfast bar.
