There are very few dinning experiences I have had in my life that can compare with the experience we had at Sissi. We have been to a few Michelin Star restaurants on our travels throughout the years in Europe and while there have been some highlights, I have never had the experience where every single dish was exceptional and memorable but here at Sissi it absolutely was. Andrea and his staff will make you feel like you were invited over to his house for dinner. Throughout the night he would go from table to table speaking to his guests in English, Italian and German which is hard enough to do in one language. His staff were attentive and kind as they explained each dish we ordered as they came out. The staff clearly has a pride for what they were doing. None of this felt forced. Every single thing we had here was memorable and delicious and made with the utmost care and love. The environment of the restaurant was wonderful as it was able to find that nice space between modern and old world with its decor and ambiance. Depending on what time of the year you visit, you might have a nice view of the Castello Principesco (Castle) across the street and the surrounding alps. The restaurant itself sits in the shadow of the mountains where the entrance to a nice walking path “Tappeinerweg” is right next to it. We dined a la carte and I had the following: Antipasti: Tataki di cinghiale, thin wild boar slices in mushroom sauce. While all the dishes were incredible this was the most memorable and if still on the menu I would recommend getting this. Starting off the meal with this dish was a perfect way to set up the upcoming courses. My wife had their take on Vitello Tonnato which is one of her favorite dishes from the the northwest of Italy (Piedmont) that she loved. Primi: I had Gnocchi di patate filled with wild garlic, while my wife had the Ravioli stuffed with roasted meat. Both done perfectly. Gnocchi if made badly can be too heavy or mushy and these were light and fluffy and filled with flavor. Secondi: Galletto di Bresse which was juicy and tender and done perfectly while my wife had the Cervo (deer) done perfectly. I had the Gelato in Olive oil and citrus for a dolce which was a refreshing way to end the meal. We were also treated to some creative amuse bouche courses that were delicious at the beginning and ending of our meals You will not be disappointed dining here, it is well worth it. Andrea and his wife also own the hotel we stayed at, Steinach Townhouse Meran which was amazing as well which I highly recommend if you are planning a stay in the city. I am not an active "reviewer" but I will always make time to write something for a place like this. Locally or family owned places that provide memorable experiences and clearly care about their business and customer base. If you visit Merano this places is a must to eat at and you will not regret it.

What truly sets this place apart is Chef Andrea Fenoglio, whose creativity and warmth make the entire experience unforgettable. It’s clear he pours his heart into every dish and interaction, making you feel like an honored guest. The dishes were culinary masterpieces, blending bold flavors, innovative techniques, and artistic presentation. Each bite was a delightful surprise, showcasing Chef Fenoglio’s extraordinary talent. What’s even more remarkable is the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere—a Michelin-starred restaurant that feels inviting and unpretentious. Every aspect of this meal was perfection, from the flawless service to the beautifully plated creations. Chef Fenoglio has truly created something special at The Sissi. I’m already dreaming of returning for another unforgettable evening.

Our evening at Sissi was a complete success. We were particularly impressed by the 5-course surprise menu. The portions were generous and offered an exciting taste journey. The stylish ambience of the restaurant – a successful mix of historical flair and modern design – makes the visit even more special. Thanks to the selected wine list with around 500 fine wines, every dish can be perfectly accompanied. Overall, Sissi, under the direction of star chef Andrea Fenoglio, offers high-quality cuisine with a fair price-performance ratio. A visit is absolutely recommended!

Abbiamo frequentato diversi stellati in Alto Adige e anche fuori Provincia, l'esperienza da Sissi é stata davvero molto positiva. L'ambiente é piú rilassato e informale dei classici ristoranti stellati, lo Chef é presente tra i commensali e con brevi battute li intrattiene e si accerta della soddisfazione del servizio. Cucina raffinata e molto equilibrata nei sapori. Abbiamo scelto il menu a 7 portate e mia moglie ha optato per la versione vegetariana, che anche se non prevista e anche se richiesta all'ultimo non solo é stata servita senza problemi ma é stata accoppiata comunque alla versione classica con piatti ricchi di sapori e soprattutto non scontati. Non mi é mai successo di avere un percorso vegetariano abbinato al piatto non vegetariano; solitamente vengono serviti due percorsi diversi; quindi grazie un grande plauso allo Chef. Come ultima nota positiva, il prezzo é lievemente inferiore ai ristoranti finora frequentati. Grazie Chef e grazie a tutto lo staff, siamo stati benissimo e torneremo.

In front of the Princely Castle (worth a visit) we tried the Sissi restaurant for my 40th birthday. We were pleasantly impressed by the dishes of chef Fenoglio who, moreover, is a nice person with whom it is a pleasure to have a chat. Environment not "tired" despite being a starred one. The veal with tuna sauce, soufflé and spoon strudel will remain in our memory.

It is the third time I have chosen to have lunch in this restaurant and it is always a magnificent experience, both for the food, the atmosphere and the staff. The presence of the chef in the room is an added value, you have the opportunity to have a pleasant chat and help make you feel at home. I appreciated everything, but I feel I should give a note of merit to the warm spaghetti with cod liver and the egg in the egg which, as far as I'm concerned, are worth the trip from Modena. We will definitely be back.

Let’s tackle this step by step: Service was ok. The staff used were great. Young and eager but they were struggling. Seemed understaffed. And that for a lunch. Atmosphere: it was noisy and the space lacked identity. Nothing to write home about. Food: what do I say? We wanted to be blown away but that definitely did not happen. The food was sub par, especially for a Michelin start (recent one at that). The ham on cracker was amazing - good choice of product there (amuse) as well as the artichoke dish. . Wine pairing - wish we had to ask for - was forgotten about 3 courses into the 5 course menu. Overall it was a surprisingly bad experience especially compared to other recent Michelin start restaurants we have been to.

We had lunch in Merano at this restaurant at the end of December. Booking was simple via the site, where we already had some ideas. The owner welcomed us with a girl and we immediately appreciated Fenoglio's friendliness. The environment with elements from the early 1900s is elegantly furnished with an easy and peaceful atmosphere. The choice was for a menu of 5 dishes with particular attention to and for my partner and unlike usual they accepted our requests without disturbance. We chose a table under a beautiful window overlooking the promenade. The service was excellent, the guys were polite and attentive. We particularly appreciated the always polite and witty presence of the owner, who at each course came to ask about the progress of the lunch, without ever missing a calm and adequate conversation with a presence that was never cloying and with pleasantness and attention. Lunch took place in about two hours, like a well-placed dance, between tastes, flavors and combinations that left us "open-mouthed" waiting for the next dish. We appreciated every dish and every combination and also the presentation, never excessive and always delicate. Above all, I remember with merit the egg in the egg with Jerusalem artichoke chips, artichokes and black truffle and a dish of tubers, celeriac, morel and truffle. Everything excellent. We had a good time just like at home and certainly, on the next occasion, we will return to spend some more time in a happy island of taste, culture, good food and beautiful people. Thank you

In giro per Merano durante i mercatini ho deciso di prenotare una cena presso questo ristorante ... un momento magico della nostra vacanza a Merano. Ogni piatto è un'emozione. Noi abbiamo scelto il menù da 7 portate scelte dallo chef. Consigliatissimo. Personale eccellente. Lo chef e il suo staff ci hanno accompagnato in un viaggio attraverso sapori e scoperte del palato. A presto chef ! PS: le foto dei piatti non le metto perchè vi rovino la sorpresa!
