We met the owners by chance last summer, one morning by the sea. When they mentioned this trattoria, saying "Yes, but how many people are there," my wife almost thought it was a direct question, asking how many of us there were. The restaurant was described to us as a genuine place, with the flavors of times gone by. Intrigued, after about six months, today, I finally managed to go. I can say that every word the owner spoke that morning by the sea wasn't just a boast about his business, but an authentic reality. A unique place, difficult to describe, because nowadays it's increasingly rare to truly describe and rediscover the flavors of times gone by. Perhaps the only phrase that could convey the idea is "exquisiteness in simple flavors." Signora Lucia holds in her hands the gift of tradition and ancient, authentic flavors. Everything is homemade, with a unique and delicate flavor. Fair and honest prices. Warm and welcoming staff: the owners, husband and wife, make you feel at home. It's definitely worth it. I highly recommend it.

"Si ma quant sit?" is a welcoming tavern, starting from the moment you call to make a reservation. Managed professionally, efficiently, and with a family atmosphere by Raffaele and Lucia, the restaurant continues the tradition of Mr. Raffaele's family, historic tavern keepers on the State Road 19 since the time of the Bourbons. The dishes, lovingly prepared by Lucia and described with historical richness and pride by Raffaele, showcase local products. Everything speaks of the Alburni region, from the grains used to make the pasta by hand, to the bottled tomato sauce, local cured meats and cheeses, as well as the meat, wine, and vegetables, always incredibly fresh. I stumbled upon it once by chance, returning from a walk through the surrounding villages. It was 2:30 PM, home was still far away, but I was very hungry. After calling other places, with the kitchen already closed or the tables taken, I called here and Raffaele replied, "Si ma quant sit?" "And he told us we could arrive whenever we wanted and we'd definitely eat. Since then, I've been back often, each time with more people, and we're always welcomed like a big family of friends. And we always eat great. There's ample parking, quick service, and reasonable prices. The trattoria is located along the SS19, so it's very easy to get to.

We've been away for almost three years, but we've always dreamed of returning. Spending time with Lello and his wonderful family is like being at home, with traditional cuisine, the authentic flavors of local products, a unique place to pamper the palate and the soul, a place to gather with family and chat peacefully. At "Si, ma quant' sit?" everything is delicious: so many appetizers, first courses, second courses, and side dishes, not to mention the desserts, the limoncello, and the fennel liqueur. Special attention to the simple things, a corner of the world to sit, relax, and remember. Thanks to Lello, thanks to everyone, but above all, a kiss to Alessandro... see you soon! We had lunch at this osteria for the first time and will definitely be back. The owners are kind and welcoming, and we were treated like at home. The food was excellent, as was the value for money. A lovely discovery.

After a motorcycle ride through the breathtaking curves of the Alburni mountains, I let my instincts guide me and decided to stop here for lunch. A perfect choice. The owner welcomes me with a sincere smile and infectious passion: he describes each dish like a little family story. Everything is handmade, with local ingredients and zero compromise: only pure tradition. Intrigued, I start with an appetizer, continue with ravioli filled with ricotta and porcini mushrooms picked that morning, and finish with a house main course. Authentic, clear, almost forgotten flavors... the kind that immediately transport you to childhood, when every bite had a purpose. An address that exudes authenticity, perfect for those seeking sincere, local cuisine. I will definitely return.

We booked this trattoria based on the high number of positive reviews, but upon arrival, we realized it left much to be desired, with its rather dated and shabby furnishings and style. Despite this, we sat down and were immediately greeted by the owner, who made us feel at home. The limited menu (since there were only eight of us, we were able to sample almost the entire menu) was brought directly to us on a large blackboard and explained by the owner. All the dishes were authentic and high-quality, without any frills. Highly recommended if you want to try typical Lucanian dishes.

02/10/2025: Every time I return, I'm eager to try some excellent pizza, a wish that always comes true. The beauty is in the location: large tables outside and pizza baskets. A stroll up to the castle completes the evening.

08/04/2026: Hidden gem in a quiet street with big portions, good food and fair prices. Relaxed and unpretentious, it was a welcome respite from some of the hustle around the coast. No views but a pleasant atmosphere. Had crab and zucchini pasta with a beer—and it was a large portion! Would recommend to any in the area

The octopus with potato was cooked to perfection, the scialatielli with seafood was amazing and the portion was generous, and the catch of the day was absolutely delicious (a bit pricey). The kids loved this place. The service was excellent. We had a little accident with our little one who threw up, and the owner was attentive and made the dining experience great despite the incident. This was the last meal we had in the area and it blew our minds. I wish we had tried it earlier. If you are in the area, you should definitely check it out.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
