Sesamo Nero: Where Vegan Cuisine Becomes Art and Heart
If you think vegan cuisine is all about sacrifice, you haven't been to Sesamo Nero yet. Located in the heart of Pescara Porta Nuova, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking a high-end gastronomic experience, regardless of their dietary preferences.
🍽️ A Menu That Surprises the Senses
Sesamo Nero's strength lies in its ability to transform simple ingredients into complex and balanced dishes. Forget the usual ready-made dishes: here, everything is designed and prepared with a mastery that nods to fine dining.
Seasonal Creativity: The menu changes frequently to follow the rhythm of the earth, always ensuring freshness and innovation.
"Must Haves": From their reinterpretations of traditional dishes (like gnocchi or pasta dishes with seasonal vegetables) to their structured main courses featuring legumes and soy, every bite is an explosion of flavor.
Unforgettable Sweets: Don't leave without trying the desserts. Whether it's a reinterpreted Sicilian cannoli or a chocolate mousse, the quality is excellent.
✨ Atmosphere and Service
The restaurant is intimate, refined, and has a vintage feel, perfect for both a romantic dinner and a quiet evening with friends. The soft lighting and tasteful decor create a relaxing "bubble" away from the chaos of the city.
The staff are the real added value: friendly, knowledgeable, and never intrusive, they passionately advise, explaining the philosophy behind each dish.
🌿 Why return?
Because it's one of the few places where the word "vegan" isn't a label, but a synonym for culinary excellence. The quality-price ratio is incredible considering the technical level of the dishes offered.
In short: A treat for the palate and the spirit. Black Sesame proves that mindful eating can lead to incredible flavors. Definitely worth a try!

I tried this place with a group of friends (only one of us is vegetarian). It was a new and pleasant experience; every dish is thoughtfully prepared. I especially recommend the fresh orecchiette.
It's clear there's an innovative idea behind it, and a truly dedicated team.
Recommended.

I have to be honest: I'm neither vegan nor vegetarian, so I was a little skeptical, but this place really won me over!
The menu isn't terribly extensive, which is a good thing, because it focuses on seasonal vegetables (which I really appreciate, synonymous with freshness!). Despite this, they offer incredibly interesting and well-made dishes. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the selection of ingredients and the pairings: the quality really shines through!
It's amazing how they manage to make flavors that are, after all, simple and genuine, so complex. A special mention goes to the potato gnocchi; they were delicious!

Here's where one of the most enduring prejudices comes into play: that vegetarian or vegan cuisine means giving up. This experience proves exactly the opposite.
The evening was, without a doubt, fantastic. For someone like me, who had never set foot in a vegetarian/vegan restaurant, the surprise effect was total—and the desire to return was born halfway through dinner.
We started with an appetizer that immediately set the record straight: dry and fragrant seasonal vegetable fritters, accompanied by homemade dips (vegan and sweet and sour mayonnaise) that aren't just "side dishes," but the true protagonists. Then comes the focaccia wedges with roasted eggplant, vegan peanut mayonnaise, spring onion, and fresh ginger: an explosion of flavor, balanced and surprising, the kind that makes you want to recommend it to everyone. The delicate and perfectly executed fried zucchini flowers complete the picture.
The first courses continue the journey without a break in intensity: noodles with oriental-style sautéed vegetables and sesame seeds, intense and fragrant, and potato gnocchi with a sauce of datterini tomatoes, friggitelli peppers, stracciata, and crispy breadcrumbs flavored with garlic, oil, and chili pepper. The gnocchi, perhaps slightly softer than my ideal, are nevertheless delightful and well-balanced. To round out the meal, a first course of the day (pictured) that confirms the kitchen's attention to detail and creativity.
The second courses play with textures and contrasts: zucchini meatballs with marinated cabbage, white bean hummus, and a nut brittle, a harmonious and satisfying dish. And then the surprise of the menu of the day: a slice of mushrooms with marrocca, intense, meaty, and capable of overwhelming even the most ardent carnivores.
A delicious finish with a cup of whipped caramel cream and salted peanut crunch: sweet, savory, and irresistible.
The wine selection is left to the waiter's recommendation—a good one—but it must be said that the menu is well-structured and more than satisfactory. The bread, homemade, deserves a special mention: focaccia, walnut bread, olive bread, whole wheat bread... a variety that alone speaks to the restaurant's philosophy.
There were five of us, and we all left more than satisfied, both with the quantity and, above all, the quality. If you really want to be picky, the wait times are slightly above average, but the place was busy, and this, honestly, is a "flaw" easily forgiven—and one that would probably disappear in quieter conditions.
The daily menu idea is excellent, perfect for those who like to be surprised without sacrificing an already extensive and well-designed menu.
Sincere compliments to the cuisine and service. You don't eat "vegetarian" here: you eat well here, period. And we really want to return.

A welcoming and reasonably well-maintained restaurant, the space is a bit cramped, a bit too close to other tables.
Good food, good quality, well-researched, overall a pleasant dinner, shame about the portions.
The main courses were decidedly too small, almost like appetizers.
The price was adequate for the experience but not for the quantity, at €35 per person for 1 appetizer, 1 main course, 1 dessert, and 1 glass of wine 🍷, I'd like to leave feeling, if not completely, at least satisfied ☺️
Will I go back? Yes, I think I can give it a second chance 😊
