We were in Modena today and stopped for lunch at Trattoria La Secchia. It's a family-run trattoria, run by a father and daughter team, and they're truly kind and friendly. They seated us freely at a table for two. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home. Tradition permeates every corner. To welcome us, they served salami and bread, both excellent. We had gnocchi with their tomato sauce and tortellini in broth, followed by prosciutto crudo. Everything was delicious, with a special mention for the gnocchi: spectacular. At the end of the meal, they also offered us coffee, a gesture always appreciated. If I had to find one criticism, it's the price of the first courses at €13: for a trattoria, even with quality home cooking, I would have expected a little less. That said, if you're passing through Modena, it's definitely worth a stop.

Traditional cuisine restaurant with SUPERB first courses! Exceptional tagliatelle and pumpkin tortelli. Good meat main courses. Excellent desserts. The restaurant isn't very big and is always busy; it can get crowded at times, but the quality of the food makes up for any potential disruption.
