In the heart of Catania you will find this fantastic place. We got cous-cous with mixed seafood and mixed fried seafood, both delicious authentic Sicilian food in excellent quality and very good price.

As part of a food and city tour, we visited this restaurant on our first day in Catania.
We were allowed to sit inside. It was nicely air-conditioned. We tried both the mixed seafood and the fried vegetables. The batter was thin and the filling was tender. We especially enjoyed the vegetable strips and shrimp. However, due to the preparation method, you can't eat much of it.
The restaurant is very popular and busy. We visited it again a few days later in the evening. Unfortunately, the octopus salad tasted too lemony for my taste, although that's typical for the region.

I've been there twice already, and I think that says a lot. I tried both the fried fish and the seafood salads, and everything was truly excellent: fresh fish, well-cooked, and generous portions. It's a classic, unpretentious place, with high tables for quick bites, but the quality surpasses that of many more renowned restaurants. If you're downtown and want to eat properly prepared seafood, it's a must-visit.

The sardines alla beccafico were exceptional, it's a shame I left out the mixed fried fish without bones and the octopus salad that had become seafood, they were the two things I used to order most often, I hope you'll change your mind.
