Scacco Matto In Tropea

Excellent service! Good food and a pleasant atmosphere.

The food was very good, as was the service and prices (November). We ordered homemade pasta with Tropea onions and stuffed squid. The squid (video in the file) was amazing. I'll be back for it again and again. The "Tartuffo" dessert wasn't worth the price, although very good; one piece is more than enough for two people. My overall rating: Worth coming back here, the best restaurant in Tropea :D

The food was excellent! Everyone was incredibly friendly, especially Antonio! We ordered the daily specials, and they were delicious!

Ristorante Scacco Matto caught our eye, and we decided to stop in. ​🥂 First Impressions & Delightful Drinks ​We ordered a local Berga Spina Spritz and a local lager beer—both were super refreshing and exactly what we needed. To our pleasant surprise, our drinks were served with complimentary bruschetta! We loved the taste of the small bite and were impressed by the variety of choices on the menu. Unfortunately, we weren't hungry enough to order a full meal that evening, but we knew we had to return. ​🍽️ The Return for Lunch ​We came back the very next day eager to enjoy the delicious drinks and accompanying bruschetta again. This time, we were hungry and decided to order the calamari. ​The food was cooked to absolute perfection! We thoroughly enjoyed the refreshing drinks, the exquisite food, the lovely view, and the service. Ristorante Scacco Matto is a fantastic spot in Tropea that we recommend!

Simply WOW! The food arrived incredibly quickly, was beautifully presented, and tasted absolutely delicious. I had the mixed fish platter, and my husband had strips of beef fillet on arugula with Parmesan. The restaurant is also open for lunch. We actually walked past it and ended up eating there in the evening. The service was attentive, polite, and English-speaking. Highly recommended.
