Savini Tartufi In Firenze

The pasta is soft (not like the taste of spaghetti ) which is very disappointing. Pasta with fresh truffle is 22 Europe. I won't say it's a good deal.

Excellent and nice at the central market of Florence! Excellent canapés and dishes all strictly with truffles! Highly recommended if you come to the Central Market of Florence!

At the central market in Florence, on the first floor, there is an embarrassing choice of food stands and a loud and cheerful atmosphere. We chose the Savini Tartufi stand and had a great time. All dishes are flavored with freshly cut truffles and cooked expressly in the small open kitchen: they offer crostini, not small, tapas-type, with excellent quality ingredients; a mixed plate, rich in cold cuts, cheeses, vegetables and croutons, and truffle pasta first courses. The chef who served us - we were lucky enough to find a seat at the counter right next to the shop window - was very kind and very nice. Prices not low but in line with the market.

The small bread tapas was great. The chef warmed it up and sprinkled on some truffle which was heavenly. We sat and ate and then talked to the chef and she suggested the truffle pasta. OMG!! We all died and went to heaven.

Pastas with truffles! First meal we had upon arriving in Rome :) absolutely delicious!

Be sure to try the truffle pasta!! It's made with fresh noodles, so it has a really good texture, and it's the best truffle pasta I've ever had. The price is not cheap because it is a truffle, but it is plentiful and tastes the best. The atmosphere is like a pretty food court.

What an adventure! We booked a truffle hunting with lunch tour while near Pisa. Lucca (like the city he said) took us on an hour or so hunting expedition with two truffle hunting dogs--Fuso and Bruno. Fuso who was Bruno's father was the real hunter. Bruno, only 5 months old, was just "playing" per Lucca. Lucca took us and the dogs to a nearby forested area known to truffle hunters and hikers and let the dogs go. We were mostly on a paved trail so no problems to walk about. Within about 20 minutes Fuso had his first find. Very interesting how he indicated he smelled the mushroom. Wagging tail, then digging a bit, then laying on his side scrapping the spot. Lucca then took his trowel and dug out the truffle. So cool! After another find, we returned to Savini Tartufi for a four-course truffle lunch, including a very nice wine. Charcuterie board, truffle pasta, eggs and truffles, chocolate covered ice cream with truffle shavings. They even used the truffles we found. Of all the things we did while in Tuscany, this was the best. Best food, best wine, best guide, best experience. Do it!

Non è la prima volta che mi siedo al bancone di Savini al Mercato Centrale di San Lorenzo per gustare un piatto di tagliolini al tartufo, ma ogni volta è una delizia per il palato e una scoperta! Deliziosi i tagliolini e deliziosi i taglieri di sfizi al tartufo. Per me e gli altri commensali è una occasione da non perdere in mezzo al vociare assordante dell'ambiente perché il piacere del palato è impareggiabile! Alla prossima!
