Excellent restaurant, a gem in Abbadia San Salvatore. Extremely friendly and professional staff, excellent dishes expertly presented, and absolutely fair prices. If you're looking for a good restaurant to dine near Mount Amiata and the Val d'Orcia, this is the place!

Truly an excellent restaurant that you wouldn't expect to find attached to a hotel! Unfortunately, the dining room is typical of hotel restaurants, and it's a real shame because the food and service deserve a warmer, more welcoming, and perhaps even more distinctive setting. The dishes are prepared with excellent ingredients and beautifully presented, the wine selection is good, and the service is very courteous and professional. We will definitely return and I recommend it to anyone vacationing in Abbadia.

A weekend escape from Rome's scorching heat gave us a wonderful and, above all, delicious surprise when my family and I chose to have lunch at this jewel in Abbadia San Salvatore. We were greeted with a dazzling smile from the owner, who, when asked if it was a problem to bring our poodle, replied, "You can take her off the leash, she's welcome!" It had already stolen my heart. From there, impeccable service and amazing dishes, whose simplicity embodied refined flavor with gourmet presentations, first courses featuring homemade pasta, and fresh, top-quality ingredients. From appetizer to dessert, a carousel of flavors. What more can I say? Don't miss the chance to try it; for me, it's the highest honor! Added to my favorite restaurants, I hope to return soon!

We went there twice for dinner this week and enjoyed both the dishes we chose and the kindness of the staff. The tagliata, the maltagliati with cream of courgettes, and the flans were all excellent and definitely worth a try for anyone visiting Monte Amiata.

My girlfriend and I ate here not long ago. I know the place well (which never disappoints), while for her it was the first visit. The welcome was stellar, the environment is very well-kept and the waiter Emilio was very competent, professional and attentive to satisfy our every need. The menu is innovative and full of options for all tastes, the dishes certainly differ from the classic and repetitive culinary proposals of the area. The dishes we chose were exquisite and of excellent quality. The wine was sublime. We really appreciated the fact that the chef Maurizio came personally to make sure that we liked the dinner. We will definitely be back! A sincere thank you to all the staff, keep it up!

Found by chance on my tour of the villages of Tuscany. A very pleasant discovery. In this place I ate one of the best tagliata I have ever tasted. Truly an experience to repeat. Truly impeccable service. Kindness and cordiality

Siamo stato benissimo tant'è che ci siamo ritornati un'altra sera. Cibo cucinato bene e materie prime di qualità, la battuta con spuma di parmigiano e tartufo fantastica così come i tagliolini con pecorino e tartufo. Ragazzo in sala gentilissimo. Bravissimi continuate così! Rapporto qualità prezzo onesto.

Alloggiando al Piccolo Hotel Aurora dopo una giornata a spasso abbiamo deciso di restare a cena al Sasso del Locco. Abbiamo trovato un ambiente molto accogliente. Il proprietario e il figlio gentilissimi. Per non parlare della battuta con spuma di parmigiano e tartufo bianchetto fresco. Ottimi sia gli gnocchi al polpo e la tagliata. Buona cantina. Peccato vivere a 8 ore di macchina da S. Salvatore Abbadia. Prezzo adeguato. Marvi

15/07/2025: A delightful place run by a wonderful owner, Moira! The apartment is spacious and is next to the farm where you'll find an incredible collection of chickens and a wild boar farm. The restaurant run by Moira in the agriturismo, open on certain days of the week, is REALLY worth a visit. It's delicious! They cook wonderfully with local produce, including the pork raised on site... and the homemade desserts are delicious...

10/09/2025: Very good food, friendly and professional staff, beautiful outdoor setting. The indoor dining room (where we had breakfast as hotel guests) seems a bit cramped and poorly maintained.
04/09/2025: I don't usually write long reviews, but this one deserves it! Last August, while we were wandering around the beautiful Chianti hills on our motorcycles, hungry and a bit late (3:30 PM), we checked Google for a restaurant open and found that this one was open all day (8:00 AM - 11:00 PM 😳). We went in, parked our bikes, took off our riding gear, and after about ten minutes of wandering around the place looking for someone to welcome us (we even entered what appeared to be an abandoned bar), we were "greeted" by a gentleman of Indian ethnicity. Although he didn't look like one, based on his manner and the fact that he was the only human being we encountered in the place, we presumed he was the owner. In an unclear language and with a rude manner, he ordered us to remove our bikes from the (empty) parking lot, which the guy defined as "just a car." We parked outside and entered the square, and the same "guy" told us that the restaurant was closed and would open at 5:30 PM (he could have told us earlier!) We pointed out what Google said about the opening hours, but he shrugged and mumbled something incomprehensible, concluding with "open scinquimezza." Okay, shall we wait and have a glass of wine at the bar? (The sign outside the gate says BAR/restaurant) NO!!!!! The bar is closed too!! ("noscicameriere" we were told). Not knowing what to do, intrigued by the reviews we'd read about the restaurant, and also because it was getting comical and we wanted to see how ridiculous it would get, we asked if it was possible to reserve and were told "noscinissuno." Okay, we'll try our luck later, so we decide to visit the nearby town (eating a sandwich) and give the place a chance, returning for dinner after "scinquimezza," when "sci" someone. We returned and parked OUTSIDE (the parking lot was still half empty). The restaurant wasn't very crowded (I think I suspect why!!). Fortunately, there was no sign of the "owner/parker." A kind young woman sat us in a nice spot under the trees, and we finally had dinner. A mediocre dinner: average first courses (on the small side in terms of portions), and the meat was a bit tough even though well-cooked. Good wine. Fast service, very nice location. Normal prices. The three stars are for the dinner, as this is a platform for reviewing the restaurant, but the welcome we received deserved less than one star. In 90% of these (rustic) establishments, customers, especially motorcyclists, are welcomed with open arms. There are a lot of us (motorcyclists), and the owner should remember that parked motorcycles attract other bikers! And a crowded place attracts more people, which is always needed to keep going. Having the privilege of owning a restaurant in a splendid location isn't enough to be successful; much more is needed, think about it! I also advise the "owner/parking attendant" to change the opening hours on Google (it takes 5 minutes!) because people move based on what they read. Furthermore, the Lord should learn to communicate with customers in a more courteous way and, since he is fortunate enough to run a business in our "beautiful country," he should have the decency to learn the language!
