The octopus tiella was EXTRAORDINARY, like all the others we tried during our vacation near Rome. We stocked up to take back to Milan so we could enjoy a bit of the Pontine coast at home. It's definitely a must-try every time we visit Rome.

I have a true adoration for traditional popular savory pies and after having tasted many of them, for me the podium is composed of Ligurian pies (the one with chard from Genoa or the green Ponentena) and the tiella di Gaeta that in this place in Rome I find very good for a crust with a perfect dough, not too bready to leave room for the filling HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I sapori di Gaeta is a point of reference for my lunch breaks. The cuisine is very good not only for the attention to the choice of raw materials but also for the care in preparing them. It is definitely the place where I really have the feeling of not only eating tasty things but also of high quality. Well done!

This was a really lovely spot - would really recommend if you’re staying in the Trastevere. The traditional Gaeta pies are delicious and really gives you a taste of southern Italian cuisine outside of pasta and pizza. The people really look after you and the ambiance is lovely and is so reasonably priced. Grazie mille!

Excellent place to find the tielle of Gaeta, good ingredients and strong flavors, excellent tiella al polpo. You can eat inside and there are also wines in bulk to take away.

Everything I ate was good and tasty. If it were close to home I would not hesitate to try something else. It gives me the idea that it is a business that works a lot with take-out. Inside, however, there are simple tables where it is allowed to consume on the spot.

I've been there twice, the first time I had the tiella with octopus and once with escarole, I also always have them in Gaeta in a very famous place there, they are absolutely on par, in fact, better, and then on another occasion I had a first espresso of spaghetti with fresh anchovies, very good, it reminded me of what they do in Sicily. Well done and well done, congratulations...:)

Pizzeria Del Ghetto

11/08/2025: A lot has changed. For over 50 years, it was my go-to pizzeria. Now, the pizza has changed, and it takes forever to get it at the table. I'll definitely give it another chance, but only once, and then I'll put a big black mark on it.
10/08/2025: The pizza is delicious, with only four flavors, but the signature dish is the marinara. The atmosphere is very casual and fun, sharing the outdoor seating. Special feature: the pizza is served on waxed paper directly at the table and is eaten strictly by hand.
