Pizzas and pastas are very tasty. The tomatoes on the salad are still partially unripe for two days in a row. The service is outrageous, rolls your eyes when you say you need another minute to order.

I had the impression that the waiters didn't care about us at all. They sat us (2 people) in a dark corner, we could barely read the menu (also because of the very poor font). We had to ask for ice or lemon, which we ordered with Coke. It was supposed to be sparkling water, but it came plain. In the meantime, they served some old focaccia that was impossible to bite into. We got a pizza, which we ordered as a main course (previously appetizers) and we didn't get any plates or cutlery with it. The staff was totally uninterested in us. On the plus side: relatively tasty tartare (only halfway through I realized there was yolk under the truffles) and baked cheese (probably pecorino). Prices, as in Tuscany, are high.

In this historic restaurant I found an excellent preparation of the dishes and the flavor of the food. The tartare with black truffle was excellent in flavor and aroma, the tagliolini with truffle and the Chianina and truffle carpaccio were excellent, truly excellent cuisine with flavour!

We passed the entrance first because the opening room looks like a butcher shop from the street. After we were seated, we were served water and Tuscan bread, but without anything else (olive oil, ham). It is typically tasteless by itself. The menu is hard to read because of the chosen font, but that's more my personal problem with similarly "aesthetically" looking fonts, but hard to read, for good orientation. I ordered a Calzone pizza and 4formaggi. The calzone is excellent, we probably didn't notice that the 4formaggi is on a tomato base (we were expecting creamy, but that's our fault). And for us personally, thick slices (5-10 mm) of parmesan on pizza did not suit us very well. The establishment is otherwise good for a shared lunch/dinner, but our experience was rather disappointing from what we expected. (Maybe we had too high expectations though).

Da dire c'è poco...un menù spettacolare, una location che ti lascia a bocca aperta, antipasti, primi con pasta fresca fatta in casa, selezione di vini incredibile, per poi passare a sua maestà la fiorentina....over the top!! Complimenti 🔝🔝🔝

19/05/2024: Restaurante simpático, familiar e com atendimento muito atencioso. Comida farta e saborosa. Dá vontade até de voltar e se hospedar no hotel acima deles.
14/05/2024: Estávamos na estrada indo de Roma para Florença e encontramos o restaurante no caminho! Fomos muito bem tratados desde que chegamos (algo que sentimos em pouquíssimos restaurantes na Itália), a comida tem um preço muito bom e uma ótima qualidade, foi uma das melhores refeições que tivemos na viagem! O tiramissu é incrível!

Futura Osteria di Abbadia Isola

03/07/2024: Infallibile nel format, nella sostanza...in tutto. Sapori, profumi, gusti di un tempo, della tradizione, del territorio...rivisti, rivisitati e riprodotti dallo Chef Samuele Bravi in maniera ineccepibile. Sala diretta magistralmente dal maitre sommelier Nicola Saporito in grado di saper consigliare abbinamenti ad ogni portata. Futura Osteria un porto sicuro, un approdo enogastronomico certo in un panorama culinario di grandissima incertezza ed inconsistenza. Bravissimi e complimenti.
29/04/2024: This restaurant had been recommended to us by the owners of the apartments where we were staying in Siena which was backed up by the Michelin Gourmand rating. First challenge was to find the restaurant which is tucked away at the back and side of the monastery. There are no signs directing you where to go and it was just by chance that we decided to go down an external stairway and then walk along a path which lead to an archway and voila! the front door. Restaurant is not large and has bear tables with largely plastic chairs. Menu was via a bar code and offered three different degustation options. There were three courses for EUR35 which included a choice between two dishes for each of the entrees and the mains. Next was five courses for EUR45 which just added weekly cheese and pork dishes to the earlier three courses. The final option was seven courses for EUR65 which didn't introduce any new dishes, the previous options for entrees and mains were simply dispensed with. This meant that apart from the weekly cheese offering, there were only six different hot dishes in total on the combined degustation menus. Separately you could have ordered a plate of cold cuts EUR30 and Beefsteak Fiorentina - various prices. We chose the three courses for EUR35 and we all had the Spinach pie and ricotta cheese as an entree. For mains we had the Ribollita, the tortellini with fresh cream and the gluten free option of the pork neck with anchovy sauce. Some of the dishes were OK and others very disappointing, lacking sufficient flavour and not at all appealing to the eye. The Caprese cake with Chantilly cream did not appeal to any of us. Wine list was good as was the service. WeE have visited twice - first and last.
