Salotto Valentini In Roma

Spurred by the positive reviews, we decide to try the new Salotto Valentini for an aperitif. The two staff members immediately warn us that the wait would be long, but no problem, we chat and wait. The wait drags on for 50 minutes... but still okay, we're in no rush. Finally, they clear our table of dirty teapots, cups, and napkins that had been keeping us company for 50 minutes... and then they bring us the menus. We choose the €15 per person option that read "cooked and raw dishes prepared by the chef" with a choice of drinks. The chef's menu arrives, obviously working in a fry shop: everything is strictly fried! The fried foods are delicious, yes, but I'd never met a chef who only serves fried dishes. I would have expected a more varied selection from a chef, including non-fried dishes as well, especially in a place that claims to be refined and sophisticated. Furthermore, many of the dishes were likely pre-packaged and not prepared by a chef, such as the crispy fries with their skins, the famous dippers, topped with pecorino, pepper, crispy bacon, and perhaps cheddar?; the fried pasta with seaweed; the panzerottini, and perhaps even the battered vegetables... In short, if the menu had said "aperitif with a selection of fried foods," I certainly wouldn't have chosen it and opted for something else. Raising false expectations in a customer only leads to disappointment. I felt a bit cheated by the whole situation. I would therefore suggest modifying the aperitif menu or reviewing the offerings and making the staff a little more efficient.

I love having tea in this lounge. They have a wide selection of teas and herbal teas, the atmosphere is quiet, and the background music is played at a comfortable volume for relaxing and chatting with others. The desserts are very good, given that they've run the pastry shop next door for many years. Given my experience there, I organized my birthday here. The staff was very kind and helpful. I had two no-shows, and they charged me two set menus less despite the short notice. We were able to take the leftovers home in doggy bags. Here are some photos of the aperitif. I ordered a vegetarian menu and a cake with Chantilly cream and chocolate. We ate very well and were full. I'm satisfied with how I spent my birthday; I had a wonderful evening.

I went for an aperitivo and dinner for my birthday, since I've been there several times throughout the year. The service was very slow despite the small number of people present. I go there often because I love it, but there's always a bit of a wait after ordering. If you're not in a hurry, it's excellent! Recommended!

Welcoming place, friendly staff and quality food

I've been there a couple of times and I had a good time, a quiet place where you can have breakfast calmly with your friends, the employees are kind and professional.

We celebrated my daughter's graduation here with a sumptuous buffet and were delighted. I thank Mrs. Yari for her availability and impeccable organization. The food was delicious, the private room was beautifully decorated, elegant and welcoming, and the background music was lovely. Of course, the cake from the bakery was fantastic, a guarantee, and it was convenient not to have to bring it in from outside. We had all the positive feedback from our guests.
