Sahara In Roma

I went to dinner with colleagues in this wonderful restaurant. The quality of the dishes was excellent, the very friendly waitress gave us excellent advice since it was the first time I tried this type of cuisine and gave us the possibility to change the level of spiciness of each course. Leaving aside the fact that I have rarely eaten and had such a good time, I would give more stars if it were possible to the beauty and attention to the smallest detail of the place. We had the opportunity to meet the very kind owner who explained and illustrated all the details of the place, which can be defined as touchingly beautiful. Well-kept, clean, where you can breathe the air of passion and love for the place. One of the few restaurants managed by those who care for it and love it as if it were their own creation, a dream come true. Working for passion and not for profit is the key that makes this place wonderful.

We had the sambussa, the classic zighini and the mixed vegetarian which we liked, the desserts are many and varied, but not all have the same level of originality. The pistachio one was very similar to (or was) a halva. We did not know the South African wine Savanha which we liked a lot and which has unique and spicy tones. The internal environment is interesting and well-kept and the people who work here are courteous and friendly. We did not have to wait long for food. I return to this restaurant with pleasure every time I come to Rome and for years they have been a guarantee, I will definitely continue to return. The only downside is that we had to ask for the receipt.

Simply the best in Rome! Quality and taste in a friendly atmosphere

Truly memorable dinner, wonderful setting and welcoming and uniquely kind staff! It was the first time I tried an Ethiopian/Eritrean restaurant and I must say that everything I ate gave me wonderful sensations making me try spicy flavors never tried, from appetizers to meat and vegetarian dishes ending with a tea and a dessert also delicious. I will definitely go back, I recommend it. Price proportionate to the quality and quantity of the dishes, 5/5! (The traditional table is wonderful, I recommend it compared to the classic table we are used to).

Surprising and welcoming place, there is also the possibility of eating in a very quiet external courtyard away from traffic, being located on the first floor. The seats in my opinion are very uncomfortable, which is the only reason for not giving the fifth star.

Very pleasant experience as always, menu for those who love to discover new flavors and different from Western ones, rich in spices and aromas. If you feel like daring, ask for the traditional Eritrean table, they will serve you everything on a single plate covered with discs of their soft and spongy bread, with which you can collect the various dishes and eat them without cutlery. Otherwise normal table and cutlery. Always very pleasant service and environment.

Good, spicy meat, slightly above average cost

A friend of mine and I tried various things from appetizers to desserts, excluding only the meat dishes. The courses were plentiful and of high quality, the service very efficient, the staff very kind and the bill really low in relation to how much we ate. A rare combination!
