A beautiful place, truly worth visiting. A large church worth devoting some of your time to. A beautifully decorated church with a rich history. It's worth noting the relics of saints found within.

Obviously, you can't go to Naples and not visit the Duomo and especially the Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro... I also recommend a guided tour, to discover those details that aren't always easy to spot on self-guided tours...

A priceless TREASURE that absolutely must be admired, preferably with the help of an audio guide. I recommend purchasing the ticket in combination with the Sant'Anna Monumental Complex (for just €1 more).

A truly beautiful and impressive chapel in the heart of Naples. The Royal Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro is richly decorated with incredible artwork, marble, and stunning details. The collection of treasures is fascinating and shows the deep history and devotion connected to San Gennaro. Definitely worth visiting when exploring the city.

Naples, Reale Cappella del Tesoro di San Gennaro, the Royal Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro is a Baroque chapel in the Cathedral of Naples, built at the request of the Neapolitans as a vow to Saint San Gennaro, the patron saint of the city. The name of Bishop San Gennaro (272-305) is associated with a miracle that still exists today: the "Miracle of Blood of Naples". The "clotted blood" kept in an ampoule in the church periodically becomes liquid and visibly boils. According to tradition, a Neapolitan woman caught the blood of the martyred bishop San Gennaro when he was beheaded and gave it to the church. The miracle was first mentioned in 1389, when the dried blood became liquid.
