I've had the privilege of traveling extensively since I was a kid, and I remember the smell of British pubs in the early '90s. Is it just a hint? As I entered, I smelled the same unmistakable aroma. If this setting weren't enough to justify the sacrosanct "5 stars," I'd add that the food and beer were also satisfying. God save "the Rose and Crown"!
