Da solo, in compagnia e con amici: pura soddisfazione. Piatti locali molto ben rivisitati. Ricerca e cura del del particolare. Bisogna andare più volte per poter assaggiare tutto. Ambiente familiare ed allo stesso tempo professionale. Consigliato anche al tramonto per un aperitivo sulla terrazza esterna ( splendida ).

Mancavamo da qualche anno ,siamo ritornati dopo aver saputo che la gestione era cambiata, non perché prima non si mangiasse bene ma per mera curiosità, devo dire che le pietanze sono saporite,cucinate bene e l'ambiente è caratteristico di montagna..in più un tocco di bonaria e genuina napoletanita' che non guasta...siamo stati serviti e ben consigliari da Rosario ,prezzi nella media.Sicuranente da ritornare!!!

We arrived on Friday evening and booked this restaurant in Scontrone based on the reviews. The starters were excellent and my tagliatelle with lamb ragout were wonderful. A little less, according to my taste, the ravioli and the second course of lamb with lemon. the almond one is better. In any case, the best restaurant we tried this weekend

Very nice restaurant, located in the square in the upper part of Scontrone. Very easy to get there by car because you arrive directly outside the restaurant and park along the neighboring road. Small but welcoming place, in stone and wood with frescoes depicting country scenes and many nice furnishings. The staff is very kind and really very nice.
The menu includes some traditional dishes and various reinterpretations made with local and genuine ingredients. We tried different appetizers and various first courses and we were all really satisfied. Experience to be repeated to explore the rest of the menu.

I recommend anyone passing through these parts to stop in this typical restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly and kind, always ready to please diners. I personally found myself having lunch in this earthly paradise, but for an aperitif I still recommend going there, as it is eaten outside on the veranda, where there is a decidedly absurd view. I had some fried polenta as appetizers, which was crunchy and freshly cooked, spiced and tasty at the right point, and some cheese and egg balls revisited by the chef in a masterly way, the best I've ever tried, I wish they would never end. Then I had a first course, homemade pasta with pesto and aubergines, I found that the aubergines were lost a little, but it doesn't stop me from giving the dish a nice 9.5: the pasta was al dente, perfectly cooked for my taste, and the pesto was really rustic and homemade, very good. I also took a platter of delicious cheeses, there were only two types but the quality was excellent and the quantity plentiful, which is why I asked if I could take them home and have them wrapped up. The waitress in the room was extremely helpful and came back with a nice bag telling me that she had also put some bread in it, so that I could eat the cheeses with it.
At that point my lunch was finished, and after paying I went out to get some air, the gentleman who was in the room saw me and invited me to sit on the terrace (where aperitifs are consumed) so I could also appreciate the view. It was a surprisingly wonderful end to a meal that makes visiting a mountain town like Scontrone worth it.
P.s. Being a vegetarian, I managed to find some alternatives for me on the menu, although like any mountain place, meat (lamb, deer, etc.) is the most offered specialty in the refreshment points.

Scontrone the village is 1000 m above sea level, then take the path towards Roccaraso 2h at the pass, it is worth the photo with the arrow lake of the split mountain

Very particular location located on the edge of a mountain village... designed by a Neapolitan who made it a very nice place to enjoy an aperitif in the midst of the panorama of the Abruzzo mountains... top..
