Ristoro "La Foce" is a place that seems to have come out of a fantasy story.
This food and wine pearl is hidden in an unlikely and wonderful medieval village, Scontrone, near Alfedena.
Enrico, the owner, is an exquisite person of rare kindness who welcomed me and my wife late and made us sit.
A delightful, warm, welcoming place.
The furnishings are splendid and we immediately felt at home.
Flavors that recall smells that bring back memories of places and the magic of some dishes are the experience I love to have when I evaluate a restaurant.
Unfortunately today the biggest problem is the loss of the symbolic value of food.
Most restaurants have become commodities, soulless consumer goods, just like the junk food they produce.
But today I had the privilege of knowing this place where my emotions were amplified without limits thanks to two wonderful people who care about the bystanders.
The owner Enrico and the chef Francesco, as well as the mayor of Scontrone, are geniuses, creators of emotions, an illuminating beacon who should certainly be a reference for all those who claim to love cooking, the real one.
Respect for tradition, wise use of raw materials and mastery in combining them. This and much more is "Ristoro La Foce", an incredibly welcoming place, full of love, purity and true feelings that tell the food and wine history of Abruzzo.
Dishes rich in flavors that persist on the palate but above all in the soul and heart that fill the voids with intense emotions.
Art, mastery and passion are the tools that live in the hands of the chef and shine through in all the dishes.
Dishes that fully respect the flavors of the raw materials which are enhanced by a combination of perfectly calibrated elements.
We start with two appetizers that would make the most famous chefs pale.
Béchamel croquettes and "La Foce" balls.
An explosion of taste, delicate flavors that unfolded in the mouth, leaving not only the palate but above all the heart enraptured.
We continued with 2 first courses.
Cazzerelli with Beans and Tortelli "La Foce".
Cazzerelli with beans are something indescribable.
A flavor that made me remember when my mother used to prepare pasta and beans for me.
I think this is enough to explain everything.
The Tortelli "La Foce" are something similarly absurd.
They were so good that I didn't even have time to think about what they were made of.
It was impossible!
There are two predominant elements: the preparation technique and the excellent quality raw materials.
The technique is a broad and expert demonstration of knowledge of what the verb "cook" means for an Italian chef.
This quality standard allows the customer to fully enjoy the flavors with perfectly balanced combinations that make every bite unique.
The secondary elements are never placed to cover the main element of the dish but always accompany it, in order to allow the palate to distinguish the flavors from one another.
The cellar is perfectly structured and offers a wide choice of world-class labels.
The combinations, expertly recommended by Enrico, prove decisive in enhancing the flavors which, in the mouth, appear clear, full-bodied but at the same time delicate and persistent.
A wonderful discovery, a new place to cultivate where you can go to enjoy a food and wine journey of the highest level.
Balance of flavors and elements perfectly linked together with lightness and body, masterfully balanced.

Place immersed in the most authentic nature and from other times, beautiful refuge, few but well-kept tables, excellent tasting dishes, we had some amazing tortelloni, the right and tasty dessert, the kind and helpful owner, nice welcome, what can I say, I will definitely go back.

I was at Foce on the evening of January 1st with a large group of friends. The staff is very kind and approachable. Excellent appetizers such as pallotte, fried polenta and crocché with bechamel. As first courses we mainly tasted tagliatelle with lamb ragout (good) and tortelloni filled with porcini mushroom cream with white wild boar sauce, which were truly special. High quality meat as a second course, we enjoyed the fillet, veal and lamb with almonds, all served with their respective side dishes and condiments. We also tried the Nutella and berry crumble, excellent! As for drinks, house red wine, simple but good. Super recommended!

Excellent dining experience. All the food from appetizers to desserts are cooked in a simple but very tasty way. The delicious appetizers, the cozzarielli and beans and the mixed grill are excellent! If you are in the area, don't miss the opportunity to visit this restaurant: it doesn't have many seats so booking is a must!

Da solo, in compagnia e con amici: pura soddisfazione. Piatti locali molto ben rivisitati. Ricerca e cura del del particolare. Bisogna andare più volte per poter assaggiare tutto. Ambiente familiare ed allo stesso tempo professionale. Consigliato anche al tramonto per un aperitivo sulla terrazza esterna ( splendida ).

Mancavamo da qualche anno ,siamo ritornati dopo aver saputo che la gestione era cambiata, non perché prima non si mangiasse bene ma per mera curiosità, devo dire che le pietanze sono saporite,cucinate bene e l'ambiente è caratteristico di montagna..in più un tocco di bonaria e genuina napoletanita' che non guasta...siamo stati serviti e ben consigliari da Rosario ,prezzi nella media.Sicuranente da ritornare!!!
