My wife and I went this morning after a wonderful walk in the fog in Canfaito. The girl who welcomed us at the restaurant was very kind, she explained the possibilities to us verbally and offered us a platter of cold cuts and cheeses for 2 + Crescia and 2 pieces of stuffed Crescia. Everything is excellent with excellent quality products, the crescia is the best I have ever eaten. In the end we took a selection of equally excellent desserts (Donut, Chocolate Salami and a kind of Sbrisolona with Nutella) and paid 20.50 euros, a very honest price for the quantity and quality. To eat you can sit in the outdoor space equipped with tables and chairs, the car park is right in front of the restaurant. The visit to Elcito on this foggy day was fantastic, the village is truly a magical corner. We will return on a sunny day to see more colors.

After a walk in the enchanting Canfaito beech forest, this restaurant is the best stop for lunch. Located at the entrance to the village of Elcito, this small business offers very tasty dishes with cold cuts, pecorino, herbs or truffles. I took a crescia that smelled of embers with ciauscolo, pecorino and herbs, which I was able to enjoy comfortably on the tables in the small garden behind. The very kind managers welcomed us in the best way. On autumn days you might find yourself queuing for half an hour, but it's worth it!

A suggestive lunch break, a perfect autumn day. We took two pieces: a filling costing 4.50 plus two fillings costing 1 euro each. We chose from many possibilities of cold cuts and cheeses. Our combination was leaves, pecorino and liver salami and ciauscolo. The crescia is very crunchy and at the same time everything is very good and tasty. Together for two with a Fanta in a can 15 euros. It was a perfect lunch break. I advise you to use the bathroom in the village and not the one in the middle of the field... Much more hygienic.

The best grow ever! The Wolf pizza is fabulous and the kindness of the owners is the icing on the cake! The tart was also very good, if we didn't have to leave we would still be there eating. The town and its views are fairytale-like

Marc Augè with his studies has defined the idea of "non-place", as opposed to that of "place": if you don't know what I'm talking about, go and find out more, it's very interesting. Elcito is certainly a "place", not only that, it is a bulwark among "places" because it has a life of its own, of stratification of stones, of centuries, of human lives, you can feel it very strongly as soon as you arrive here. At the gates of this ancient village, in a stone house, a small door opens which leads into a tiny room, where two willing boys have opened this wonderful and almost surreal "closet", full of good things: high quality cured meats such as raw ham, artisanal cooked ham, coppa, a wonderful rolled bacon and then the salamis among which the one with liver and the inevitable ciauscolo from the Marche stand out; I also tasted a delicious crescia and a truly excellent semi-mature pecorino, as well as drinking an excellent Lacrima di Morro d'Alba. There are also several nice cold beers, which now go down in Garganella in August... The two guys also run a magical refuge, behind their shop, where it is possible to stay overnight. Well done, hold on because your project in this timeless place truly deserves the best things!
