A unique experience. Refined and unique dishes.

A truly delightful experience. We ordered a tasting menu that was customized upon request. The staff was professional and attentive. They even remembered that I'd mentioned a birthday when booking, and they even brought out dessert, complete with candles! I'll be back soon; we had a truly wonderful time!

I recommend and share this extraordinary experience as a “Roman” who is a world traveller and food lover.
There is something deeply human about this experience.
Zia does not amaze you with special effects — it seduces with balance, precision, no excess.
The door closes behind you: inside, time seems to slow down, and the environment presents itself as a playful minimalist elegance with works of art placed “by chance” — including a Fratelli Campana candelabro, as if it were an ordinary object.
One gets the feeling that someone has put together a personal collection and placed it among the tables, as if to say, “Here is my kitchen, here is my collection: let's share!”
The lighting is warm but measured, the number of seats is deliberately limited, each table designed to be a small culinary sanctuary.
At the back, in the dark space of the lower floor, is the private area—a huge table conceived as a tribute to Japan, a private room were an intimate, curated wine cellar that hides the beating heart, the kitchen.
When dining at Zia, you come into contact with a clear and conscious cuisine, where every detail is thought out and nothing is superfluous, pure substance, Roman style.
Finally, an Italian chef opens the door to sharp contrasts and minimalism, understood as getting rid of the superfluous to give flavour to the raw ingredients.
He starts with his interpretation of amuse-bouche pancetta affumicata di maiale his radicchio with bluberry and angostura the risotto con bufala, limone e genziana, his cappelletti in hen broth..
It seems obvious, but knowing how to cook the sweet and bitter with measured acidity is an art and this chief master this art,
Where international knowledge meets the soul of Italian flavours you truly feel that ZIA is home for all cultures.
But apart from the amazing food, the complicity and careful attention not to show off, what strikes me is the teamwork, in which everyone counts.
Zia’s true strength, however, lies in its humanity — in the teamwork that supports every plate and the emotion behind each flavours. Antonio Ziantoni doesn’t just serve food; he crafts moments where simplicity becomes an act of love.
There is something deeply human about this experience.
Ruth Reichl would say that here “simplicity becomes an act of love.”
I would simply say that, as I step out into the Roman night, I am aware that I have experienced a rare moment: one in which cuisine ceases to be food and becomes emotion.

Food was mostly delicious except for a few outlayers (cold pasta dish did not work for us, as well as the lobster dish which was messy but interesting). The desserts were tasty but very trivial which is unexpected frim a place like this and arevthe main reason for the 4\5 stars. Wine pairing was mostly very good though to me the rosé wine did not compliment the dishes and was generally not a memorable wine.
Service was perfect and kind, atmosphere was modern, pleasant and clean.

I've had the pleasure of visiting Zia four times now, on various occasions, with friends and family. I must say I've never been disappointed. The ambiance is meticulously designed, nothing distracts: from the music to the lighting, from the plants to the artwork. The wait staff is always attentive and knowledgeable, and the dishes are explained clearly and without too many frills. I've always preferred the tasting menu, consisting of five or seven courses, to offer a broader range of choices.
The dishes are sometimes boldly paired (at least for those unaccustomed to a certain type of cuisine), but they are always surprising. Not to mention the desserts, which are certainly beautiful to look at but also incredibly tasty.
The menu is complemented, if desired, by excellent wines or bottles selected from the extensive but refined wine list. I highly recommend letting the sommelier, who is always very attentive and knowledgeable, guide you in your selection.
Zia Restaurant is always an excellent choice. A young, attentive, and highly trained team welcomes and pampers you.
Thanks guys, keep it up!

I've been back to Zia, and it always feels a bit like coming home.
The service is impeccable, attentive, and kind—I'd say above all, welcoming—thanks to Valentina, who with her smile and attentive service makes everyone feel at home. The menu is a veritable cascade of flavors and emotions; every time I'm lucky enough to taste dishes that are aesthetically beautiful and bursting with flavor and aroma. The desserts are incredible, and it's like taking a little trip from Rome to Paris right from your table at Zia Restaurant. I'll always be back. Congratulations!!!

Zia was definitely an experience, and the waiting staff put on a song and dance choreography of plates that anyone would appreciate. The service is exquisite and its of credit to them how well they pull it off in being polite, attentive, and exceptional at what they do.
What lets the restaurant down sadly is its food and ambiance, and I would expect more from a Michelin star establishment.
Ambiance : too sterile, everyone is afraid to make a single sound, the music is very low, it makes the whole vibe slightly unwelcoming.
Food : We tried the 7 course menu, and most of the food was nice. Not great, not mind blowing, it was nice. Some dishes like the Pigeon very clearly missed the mark and were not good at all. Others tasted really nice, but had me feeling mixed emotions about if the price tag is worthy of the quality. Sadly, I’d say the seven course menu was not. I think the chef could push themselves abit more to craft a better menu that can accompany the price tag.

Good, not great, but you expect "great" from a place like this at this price point. None of the dishes were memorable - except for the bread.
Decor is generic and kind of boring. Also, there should not be a table right next to host stand where we can hear everything and see into their computer and work station while we eat.
A lot of room for improvement.
