Nice restaurant in the heart of the historic center of Modena. Very refined cuisine (even too much), excellent wine selection, high price but nowadays if you are looking for quality you can't help but spend and so nothing to complain about. Too bad the staff is incredibly cold and rude. When we arrived the lady at the entrance was talking to a customer and didn't even deign to say hello and left us there at the door like two imbeciles for at least 3 minutes. The table booked well in advance was next to the entrance in a really bad position, the table service was identical to the welcome. Basically a bad experience also because you can't live on food alone.

Historic restaurant located in a picturesque little square in the historic center, it has always been highly esteemed for the high quality of its dishes which, although they have a popular appearance, are of the highest quality, among the best in the area.

We were about 30 minutes outside of Modena on a Tuesday. This restaurant was recommended to us by a local who called and made reservations for us. We left early due to drive there due to severe parking issues because of special event parking. We lucked out and found the restaurant that was tucked in behind the address building. It faced a quaint courtyard it shared with 2 other small restaurants. We were greeted by the hostess/server and seated immediately outside at a nice covered linen table. The patio area was well lit but intimate. The owner greeted us in English and gave us each a complimentary vegetable tart that was beautiful and delicious. We discussed the menu and had the following: Antipasti -parmesan cheese flan in leek and potato sauce with balsamic vineager. Primitive- we had "The Nido" which is the house dish and is a sort of stuffed pasta made with ragu and porcini mushrooms and peas and shaped like and arrancini Secondi- Angus filet with parmesean and Lambrusco reduction sauce. We had a bottle of Cleto Chiarl Lambrusco with dinner. For dessert we had the recommended Tiramisu. All of the plates were plated very well and delicious. We savored every bite. The owner and servers doted on us but did not rush us. We conversed with the owner about each dish and she gave us insights on each one. The meal was a leisurely 2.5 hours. We wish we had another open night as we would return. This was our 5th day in Emilia Romagna and by far our best meal.

We had this for lunch today and it was delicious!! A favorite of our trip so far! 4 adults, 1 teen and 1 kid loved it!

mah! ambiente elegante e curato, all'esterno sulla piazzetta con le lucine è magico, ma all'interno ... perchè non rinunciare a 2 tavoli e mettere invece un separè? l'ingresso alla toilette era troppo vicino a un tavolo da 4, lo sciacquone mente si cena non favorisce la poesia.. nel tavolo di fianco al nostro il signore guardava il muro invece che la sala, credo che non vada bene. servizio attento, premuroso, gentile, senza essere invadente. siamo tornati in questo ristorante dopo molti anni, in occasione del nostro anniversario, perchè da giovani venivamo spessissimo, consigliati dagli zii di mio marito che erano ospiti fissi la domenica a pranzo dalla sign. zelmira, e prendevamo sempre i loro famosissimi nidi, un piatto superlativo che abbiamo poi tentato di replicare a casa. anche stasera abbiamo ordinato i nidi, ma purtroppo siamo rimasti delusi. sono diventati una cosa rotonda che poteva contenere tagliatelle ma anche altro, senza la classica gratinatura che ricordavamo. mio marito ha ordinato la coppa di maiale che ha apprezzato, io invece il petto d'anatra. la cipolla alla liquerizia decisamente buona, la riduzione allo cherry con ciliegie anche no, parevano più ciliegie fabbri che in mostarda. il soufflè di mela in realtà era una fettina di mela brasata ricoperta da panna montata. presentata benissimo ma non un soufflè. il conto è onestissimo, se consideriamo le portate e il vino. sicuramente torneremo, ma per assaggiare piatti più tradizionali
