Modern decor and atmosphere betray the fact that it is one of the oldest restaurants in Modena, in an intimate and welcoming square. Highly trained, attentive and friendly staff who present the numerous and attractive off-menu dishes to the table. In fact, dishes arrive expertly presented and prepared with care. I skip the appetizers but the table tasted them with considerable pleasure. My first course is a Nido: a basket of tagliolini very (too?) loaded with ragù. Even the spaghetti alla chitarra cacio e pepe with broad beans and scampi requested by a guest are very well presented but almost too robust. Characteristics that can excite many other palates. I close with a pleasant strawberry and balsamic vinegar ice cream. Good Lambrusco di Sorbara to accompany the dishes. Average cost for an evening to recommend to lovers of rich and sustained flavors.

We've been in Emilio Romagna region for a week and this lovely restaurant was definitely the pinnacle of our trip. Tucked in a tiny piazza, serving incredibly delicious food in a warm, cozy atmosphere... It's obvious that every bite is a consequence of creativity and persistence. Unfortunately, we had to catch our train to Bologna, so we could not stay for more minutes to enjoy our desserts. Maybe next time...

Zelmira is a lovely restaurant located in one of the most characteristic and beautiful corners of Modena. It usually offers traditional Modenese dishes and an innovative seasonal menu. All of exceptional quality. Grazia, who runs the restaurant, is incredibly kind and all the staff have also proven to be kind and helpful. In Modena, going to eat at Zelmira is a sure thing. Highly recommended!

Last night I returned to dinner at Ristorante Zelmira in the historic center of Modena in the romantic and glittering Piazzetta San Giacomo.
We were welcomed, as always, with a smile by the very good owner Maria Grazia Muccini.
Since I'm curious I tried two new dishes.
Seared scallops in zucchini and basil sauce with crispy celery and "coscia" pear.
Tagliatelle with spirulina algae with fresh tuna, pine nuts, mint and atturrato bread.
To finish, strawberry semifreddo with orange reduction.
Tiziana instead opted for a plate of culaccia with porcini mushroom croutons and a plate of tortellini in broth.
Everything was excellent.
The wine was also very good: a Gewürztraminer by Colterenzio.
In short, this restaurant never lets me down.

Tutto ottimo dalla cucina ma i veri tortellini in brodo, semplici, delicati ma con il giusto sapore, sono la ragione x passare da questo ristorante passando da Modena… e anche altro lo merita……. Dolci in testa
