Ristorante Valnontey In Cogne

We had the pleasure of dining at the Valnontey restaurant in Cogne, and we can say without hesitation that it was an excellent experience. 🍽️ The menu features traditional dishes from the Aosta Valley, carefully prepared. In addition to a delicious appetizer of tomini, cured meats, and local cheeses, we sampled the creamy and enveloping fondue, the rustic and flavorful soça, and the famous Cogne crema con le tegole, a traditional dessert that ended the dinner on a perfect note. 🍷 The selection of Aosta Valley wines is extensive and well-cured. The Gamay we chose was a pleasant discovery: it paired perfectly with the dishes. 🎯 Attentive, courteous, and professional service made the experience even more enjoyable. Excellent value for money. Our only small flaw: the room was a little cold.

Typical Alpine restaurant. The decor isn't particularly well-kept. The food quality is modest. Friendly staff.

Very fast and helpful. If I had to offer constructive criticism, I'd say I would have liked to see more choice or variety in the vegetable side dishes, and perhaps more attention to the seasonings (oil, vinegar, and salt). But these are minor details, because the service was excellent and fast. The dishes were truly delicious and very well-balanced. Special mention goes to the beef stew, which was excellent. Well done!

To my great disappointment, I found a huge difference from two years ago...from fantastic to mediocre. My son's pasta with sauce tasted like nothing; in fact, more than half a plate was left over. Tagliata with arugula and parmesan. The meat was cut the wrong way, so it was tough, but with a little effort I managed to eat it. Fondue with polenta was good (but Fontina cheese is known to be good to begin with). Breaded steak with fries for my other son. The steak was cooked very well, but the fries were soggy. The waiter was very friendly and always available, which is a plus...but you go to a restaurant to eat...so I'm very sorry.

We were there yesterday. An impromptu table of 13 on the way down from the Sella. Excellent selection, amazing food... fantastic place. But what we liked most was the skill and helpfulness of the guy who I believe is the manager... a great guy with passion, among a thousand places with little desire to work. Congratulations, a place I recommend to everyone.

We had a lovely dinner here, great friendly service, wonderful local wine and the best pasta. Local trout was also great and I wish I could have tried lots more of the local dishes that sounded delicious. It was a busy restaurant on a Thursday night - mainly Italians which is always a good sign

A wonderful experience. It was our first agritourism farm visit upon arriving in Cogne. Delicious dishes, typical of high mountain cuisine. Superb pasta, cheeses, and meats. It's ideal for spending several days and trying everything. We spent two days there during our six-day stay, and the staff's service was excellent and incredibly friendly. We'll be back very soon!

I'd say one of the best restaurants left in Cogne. Fair prices, good food, and excellent service. Highly recommended.
