We had the great pleasure of eating at Ristorante Usignolo above Cannero Riviera and it was an experience that we will remember for a long time. Even the journey along the winding roads with a spectacular view of Lake Maggiore was impressive, but when we finally sat down on the terrace, we were simply thrilled. The view of the lake and surrounding mountains, especially at sunset, was simply breathtaking.
The menu immediately impressed us – a perfect mix of regional specialties and Italian tradition. The fresh fish dishes and homemade pasta in particular were an absolute highlight. You can immediately tell that they cook here with the best ingredients and a lot of love. Every dish we tried was thought out down to the last detail and incredibly tasty.
The service was as warm as it was attentive. We immediately felt welcome and the team's recommendations - be it for the food or the wine pairing - were excellent. Everything was served with a smile and we had the impression that every guest was truly valued here.
The atmosphere was simply indescribable. The combination of excellent food, warm service and this incredible view made the evening very special. It felt like a getaway for the soul.
We can only warmly recommend Ristorante Usignolo. If you're in the area, you should definitely reserve a table - especially on the terrace. This restaurant impressed us not only culinary but also emotionally, and we will definitely come back.

Thank you for 3 wonderful November evenings on beautiful Lake Maggiore with the best food, warmest hospitality from a great family with a lovely grandma who is responsible for the drinks and very attentive service staff. Many Italian families meet here, great atmosphere with many guests who enjoy this Italian menu and matching wines of very good quality (Barolo). Risotto with porcini mushrooms and parmesan absolutely top, fish dishes (mussels:) grilled meat and great desserts. You are so warmly welcomed here and thank you for the Fernet because we just wanted to eat everything but couldn't anymore. I don't even want to know what the view of Lake Maggiore is in summer, we'll definitely be back.

Die Anfahrt ist beschwerlich, selbst mit dem Auto - vom Fahrrad (ohne "E-") ganz zu schweigen: enge Kehren, enge Wege. Aber oben angekommen wird man wunderbar belohnt: Ein sensationeller Seeblick und die Hauptsache: anspruchsvolle Küche zu moderaten Preisen, serviert von freundlichem Personal. Mein Tipp: das Hausbier, das Risotto mit osso bucco und die Leber vom Jungbullen auf venezianische Art. Ein rundum gelungener Abend! Wenn's von Frankfurt nicht so arg weit weg wäre, würde ich sagen, wir kommen wieder. Ach was, ich sag's einfach: Wir kommen wieder!

Wer die fünfhundert Höhenmeter über die Serpentinen gemeistert hat will nicht von der energiegeladen "Nonna" hören, daß "al completo ogi" ist. Daher unbedingt reservieren (gut mit WhatsApp).
Das Lokal besteht aus einem für deutsche Verhältnisse riesigem Hauptraum, einem anschließenden Wintergarten und einer kleinen Aussenterasse. Eine Art Aussiederhof.
Der Service ist flink und höflich. Die Weinkarte umfasst sechs Zeilen (Rot,Weiß,Rosé,Arneis..), der Wein ist aber sehr lecker.
Wir saßen auf der Terrazza und wurden schon fast verrückt von den immer wieder hereinziehenden Schwaden von betörendem Trüffelduft aus dem Hauptraum.
Wir genossen ein Risotto Milanese mit Safran und ordentlich Fleischstücken aus dem Herz vom Ossobuco und Ravioli mit Zucchiniblüten mit Robiola Osella. Beides ein Augen- und Gaumenschmaus. Als Hauptgericht Dorade mit zweierlei Gemüse (Bohnen und Zuccini), Ofenkartoffeln und Tomatensauce. Alles ganz frisch, vor allem der erste NICHT TK-Fisch seit vielen anderen Erfahrungen in Lokalen am Lago. Leider ging dann in Sachen Dolce gar nix mehr. Wir schauten neidisch auf die Nachbartische die die traditionellen Süßspeisen sichtlich genossen.
