Excellent cuisine that enhances tradition and local products. Care and attention both for the dishes and for the customers at the table, special mention for Virgola, Scorza nera Majani and chef Funi's wines! It was a very pleasant journey into Bolognese cuisine, we will return without a doubt ;)

We love the Grotto, we are regular customers but every time we go it is a new gastronomic experience with new flavors and new research.
Andrea, as well as being a great Chef, is a great researcher and professional, every time he is able to involve us and attract us into his magical world of flavours, anecdotes, new ingredients and friendliness.
His passion is overwhelming and we are grateful and happy that there are still enlightened people capable of making known and passing on the gastronomic tradition of the area. Thank you Andrea and your kind staff.

Andrea Funi, the balancing chef between tradition and innovation, surprised us last night too
Listening to the menu told by Andrea is a true poem: passion and heart are intertwined with the expert knowledge of local products, his empathy translates everything into an experiential culinary journey that in the end the end customer receives with great satisfaction and emotion
Here my wife and I got excited last night
Andrea's narrated menu seduces us and we start with two appetizers
Radicchio and mozzarella and crunchy artichokes
Mozzarone the mozzarella filled with squacquerone created by Andrea in collaboration with the producer to offer the customer a light, non-fatty combination, without overpowering the taste of the radicchio
The delicately flavored artichokes in the batter shell are a treasure chest of flavours
Two Virgola first courses and classic Bolognese dishes
Comma in a pasta format designed and studied by Andrea with organic flours from ancient local grains with stone grinding and the thickness of the pasta specifically defined to best enjoy it with the sautéed mixture of Mora Romagnola salami, peppercorns, blended with our red wine, pecorino
Remarkable on the palate, the aromatic notes that characterize autumn are appreciated
The classic Bolognese dishes are a guarantee of the tradition that Andrea safeguards lovingly and with respect
Two light second courses to give space to the Orto d'Autunno and Radicchio Rustico Orto d'autunno desserts
Seasonal vegetables accompanied with caciotta is a good choice

Surprise, delight, gastronomic orgasm!
Incredibly cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, led by the owner-chef in the fourth generation! Author's recipes for pasta and sauces, sunset in the mountains! We rested our souls and hearts while our stomachs labored to digest the splendor of Michelin-starred cuisine! If you haven’t been to this restaurant yet, then don’t tell anyone that you’ve been to Bologna!😘❤️

I would start by saying that the only way to really understand the sensations that this restaurant gives is to try it. A truly unique and special lunch, everything taken care of down to the smallest detail, courses, presentation of the dishes, the simple but very effective menu, the warm and welcoming place and a trained but above all helpful staff not to forget the Chef and sommelier Andrea Funi, a truly special person and from the heart who did everything to make us feel at home giving us a special experience. Its menu is studied down to the smallest detail, accessible to any type of taste from a to z and with truly unique chromatic notes, the wine, produced directly by the chef, also a kiss, with a fruity and delicate taste and to finish with the desserts that grant him a blessing.
In addition to the dishes, Mr. Funi is a very pleasant and transparent person, who speaks with all his heart about all his work and all his passion for the art of cooking, which makes everything very simply enchanting.
With the possibility of returning to the area it will certainly be a place to stop by even simply to say hello.

Chef Funi was truly super welcoming, right from the directions on the phone: courteous, kind and with his stories rich in detail and competence, he conveys all the passion with which he faces his mission "La Grotta". A trattoria with typical Emilian features, run with a mastery that does not go unnoticed, starting from the fresh, express pasta, made on the spot by expert hands, up to its digestive liqueur. A masterpiece. In the meantime you go through a series of flavors that make you really happy. Here, we appreciated everything about his cuisine, where his passion makes you take a leap into the past and takes you far away with innovative combinations, perfectly matched flavours, everything truly genuine, even the freshly made ice cream, right down to his custard which takes you back to childhood memories, just like when you tasted "grandmother's" cream, unique and special, just like He knew how to do.
