Absolutely incredible. Little piece of heaven just outside of the city wall. Elevated, food focused place with great service and fantastic dishes.

Impeccable service. Spectacular food. Real truffles, served tableside. Their interpretation of tiramisu is worth trying, as are the three Chianina veal cuts. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. They offer a tasting menu. Note for Spaniards: kitchens close at 10 pm, and in many places, they stop serving at 9:15 pm.

One of the best meals we’ve had anywhere. Original, well conceived dishes that are Tuscan but unique and fresh. From the Spring menu: For antipasti, we had a terrine made from pheasant as well as the rainbow trout - both sublime. For our main, my wife had the Contrasto, a well named pasta dish with cuttlefish that was exquisitely presented so that you sensed the sea. I went more classically Tuscan with cinghiale loin wrapped in Sangiovese grape leaves accented by the sweet-tart flavor or Concord grape sauces. Desserts were a sweet and savory hazelnut profiterole with a sauces of celery and mozzarella milk (!) that was surprisingly well balanced and a series of chocolate and gelato samples. An amazing and extensive wine list overseen by the co-owner who recommended the Chianti in the photo. Don’t miss this place when you’re in Siena.

The food was definitely memorable. We still look through our camera roll to remember the experience. Really happy we decided to eat here in the few nights we stayed in Siena. The atmosphere did feel a bit dry but the service was great.

When it comes to pizza, it really does seem like Italians come to mind. After eating here, I realized it couldn't be any more delicious. I'm not exaggerating. We ordered a four-cheese pizza with bolognese sauce and pasta, and my wife ordered red wine. Everything was so good! Thank you for your hard work and effort; I really liked it. The interior is also very nice. I recommend you stop by if you're ever in the area.

After a walk with our 2yo, we came across Ristorante Tar-Tufo and decided to go in for lunch. It was really wonderful. Special thank you to our server Mariana for being so helpful and knowledgeable.
The space is beautiful and atmosphere is really enjoyable. Our dishes were so creative and beautifully plated. The re-imagined egg - WOW and the octopus -perfectly cooked -and the spaghetti and just all of it. Really yummy.
And while a butter pasta with cheese is always a crowd pleaser for our 2 yo, I don't think I've ever seen her eat so much of it so quickly.
Thank you to the team at Ristorante Tar-Tufo. We hope to see you again soon.

Siena can be magical, but also terribly touristy. That's why, when you step inside Tar-Tufo, the first glance immediately offers a pleasant respite: exposed stone walls steeped in history and a refined atmosphere that immediately transports you to a world of refined hospitality.
Service is one of its strengths. In an era where expertise is in short supply, finding waitstaff so attentive to dietary needs and knowledgeable in explaining the menu is a breath of fresh air. Praise also goes to the cashier's management: the 20% The Fork discount was applied automatically, without the annoying need to remind the waiter, which often ruins the end of the evening. A small touch of managerial elegance that makes all the difference.
The Cuisine: Between Aesthetics and Substance
The experience began with an entrée from the chef: a cube of "burnt" pumpkin accompanied by an enveloping sauce. An interesting calling card, capable of playing well with textures.
The two of us indulged in a rather structured experience:
• Appetizers: Three dishes that stand out for their presentation, with an aesthetic that doesn't neglect flavor.
• First Courses: Two solid, well-executed dishes that celebrate the region with a contemporary twist.
• Second Courses and Desserts: Balanced portions and crisp flavors, accompanied by two glasses of Tuscan red that worthy of the dishes.
A Few Side Notes
Although the experience was decidedly positive, there were a couple of details that dampened our enthusiasm. First, the ambient music: a slightly too loud volume that, at times, interfered with the conviviality of the table.
Furthermore, while the quality is unquestionable, the final bill of €205 (already discounted by 20%) seems perhaps a touch over the top compared to the overall offering. In settings of this caliber, where fine dining is a nod to the guest, we would have appreciated the classic "small pastry" with coffee; a courtesy that many colleagues in the same category offer to complete the hospitality circle, and which was lacking here.
In conclusion
Tar-Tufo remains an absolutely recommended address for those seeking a pleasant evening, surrounded by Sienese charm and pampered by high-quality service. The cuisine is there, as is the ambience; with a few small adjustments to the "after-dinner" portions and the size of the dining room, it could truly be close to perfection.

Recommended for: A romantic dinner or a special occasion where the atmosphere is as important as the food.

The best food we had in Tuscany! So much flavor. The setting and service were lovely, and I loved how the chef came out to explain the food. We went in November and I still think back to that night!
