Ristorante Tar-Tufo In Siena

Nothing to complain about about the place, it's Piazza del Campo. The waiters are very well-prepared and friendly. I come here often; the last time I had guests, some of the dishes were excellent. Yesterday I had a Tuscan burger; I didn't like it, it had a strange flavor. My wife had an elephant ear; it was good, but it was too tall to be called an elephant ear.

We had an incredibly memorable, unique and delicious dinner during our trip through Tuscany at Tar-Tufo. The five-course truffle tasting menu included a variety of well thought out and beautifully presented dishes, all paired with wines which were intentionally chosen to match both the food and our personal preferences. One of us does not eat red meat nor enjoy red wine, yet the owner and the kitchen were very accommodating with both the ingredients and a separate wine pairing for one of us featuring all delicious white wines from across the country. For both the meal and the view, I could not recommend Tar-Tufo enough!

Gourmet dinner with dishes refined in taste and presentation. Attentive, attentive, yet never intrusive service from owner Marien, who explained each dish and recommended the wine. The truffles are sliced directly on the plate at the table. A meticulously maintained location with a remarkable view. A truly exceptional dining experience.

The overarching theme I would give my experience was a resounding sense of trust. Trust that the ingredients were selected and incorporated in the most magical way with specific purpose. Trust that the wine, curated from regions and producers with integrity of the terroir, expresses a love with each dish. Trust that the service; listens, responds, and recommends such personalized passion for the guest experience, you feel like the star of the meal. If you seek an authentic, genuine, and trustworthy dining experience, here is the holy grail. I look forward to my return and sharing this experience with others. Grazie Mille, TarTufo!

You have to go here and try the amazing seasonal truffle menu with wine pairing. For the main dish, the chef cooked us an amazing pork wellington - I’ve never tried anything like it. So rich, yet cased in light flaky pastry - he came out to describe lovingly the trial and error that led to him creating it, then hand carve for us, which was awesome. Paired with an exceptional gran selezione chianti. Stunning. Lovely attentive service (there is a supplement, unlike most places, but they earn it, unlike most places.) Can’t recommend highly enough for a lovely romantic evening.

We chose Tartufo for the romantic sunset views and the possibility of gluten-free pasta. The view truly was stunning, exactly what we were hoping for. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up. They do offer gluten-free options, but only if confirmed in advance (not the same day), something we weren’t aware of until we arrived. We decided to stay anyway because of the atmosphere. The dishes we tried were okay at best, but overall underwhelming. Presentation felt a bit pompous, but the flavors just didn’t deliver. We were also served an appetizer we didn’t order, and were charged for it. Normally I wouldn’t mind, but the food wasn’t memorable. Service was fine. Not bad, not great. If you’re going for the view, it’s lovely. But for the food? I wouldn’t recommend it.

This was one of the best restaurants we visited during our road trip through Tuscany. The food was delicious - incredible risotto - and the service was among the most professional and attentive we've ever experienced. The restaurant has a lovely quiet ambiance, away from the busy city center, and offers an incredible view. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Siena!

We went here to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary whilst in Siena and we really couldn't have hoped for a better way to mark the occasion. The food was outstanding, perfectly cooked, very unique combinations of flavours but they balanced each other perfectly, absolutely delicious. The waitress was charming and explained the dishes in such intricate detail, she is very obviously passionate about the food and ingredients. Beautiful setting too, with a gorgeous view back to the rooftops of Siena. Thank you for making our big day so special.
