I've always had excellent food here. Very friendly and professional staff.

Everything was delicious, the waiters were very friendly, and the atmosphere was very peaceful. It was a bit of a hassle to get there by motorhome, but we were able to park and had a wonderful lunch. The desserts were also spectacular.

The Risotto Smeraldo is a must. We at different meat secondi and all of them were awesome. The chef came to our table and took time to take our orders correctly. The winelist is also great. I can highly recommend this restaurant!

The trip up the mountain is definitely worth it! We visited the patisserie the day before and had such a good conversation with the owner that we made a reservation for dinner today. The food was indescribable! He took so much time and advised us from start to finish! We had three different dishes, each one better than the last! Communication in English is great and always funny; he even made us an appointment at the hairdresser because we don't speak Italian! A truly incredibly kind soul; we would come back anytime! As a third-generation family business, you can really see how lovingly and meticulously everything is designed :)

The best restaurant for miles around. A family-run business with seasonal, regional, fine cuisine, a good wine selection, and very reasonable prices for the quality. The two siblings, Daniela (in service) and Adriano (in the kitchen), are always on hand, as are their mother and father. We highly recommend it. The risotto has won multiple awards and is a dream. It's always of the same high standard. Reservations are recommended during the summer months.

Il ristorante Smeraldo non perde un colpo . Mai. Fosse da pochi anni ma ,nella realtà , da più di trenta . Ho letto delle recensioni negative prima di appropinquarmi personalmente in una mia critica ( POSITIVISSIMA ) personale e non ho capito aquali rari e costosissimi ristoranti pluristellati questi tremendi critici siano abituati. A parte il fatto che allo stellato lo chef dello Smeraldo ci si avvicina assai data la pignolissima e maniacale ricerca della qualità e degli ingredienti a top unita a tecniche di cottura invidiabili e sempre aggiornatissime( dalla bassa cottura , a quella tradizionale alle innovazioni sia negli antipasti che nei primi cin i secondi sia del conosciuto che del nuovo) il rapporto qualità prezzo è encomiabile perché ,oltre all' evidente ottima bontà e squisitezza dei piatti si aggiunge anche un menù in linea assoluta cin gli altri ristoranti in una terra baciata dalla vicinanza della Svizzera ( e dei Suoi folli prezzi ) e dall' utenza germanica che è di facile spesa ma non di gastronomica intesa. Con la differenza però che la concorrenza nella val dumentina e varesotta ( laghi inclusi) spesso e volentieri ciurla nel manico e serve paste precotte , ingredienti non sempre al top, ricettario confuso vecchio e stantio e prezzi talvolta anche sopra i prezzi dello stesso Smeraldo che di sicuro non è Mac Donald ma che i soldi che chiede se li merita tutti. Quindi tutto è espresso alo Smeraldo : pasta , riso , polenta e,a venire giù , tutto il resto con sapori ed aromi degni di andare davanti al re specialmente il mio piatto preferito , le fettuccine dell' alpino con funghi porcini ,speck e panna che sembrano si usciti dagli anni ottanta ma che ,assaggiandoli , ti spediscono senza l' aiuto di Musk su Marte nell' anno tremila . Ebbene ,alla fin della tenzone , se non andate allo Smeraldo siete dei Barlenghi . Buon appetito ....
