Ristorante Sirenella In Modena

Excellent traditional restaurant in Modena. The style is that of an old-fashioned trattoria (it's in one of the oldest sports centers in Modena), and while the atmosphere isn't "trendy," it has a 1960s-70s feel. That's the kind of style I prefer. The food is excellent; it even won a Borghese "4 Ristoranti" award. Sure, the TV isn't everything, but for a trattoria in a sports center, it's a great result.

Basic place. Service is a bit slow, but the food is good.

Sirenella is a typical, unpretentious place that surprises you with excellent cuisine. Balanced portions, some delicious traditional dishes (I loved the tortellini but didn't like the gramigna), and very friendly staff with a family-like attitude, even a bit too much so when they start to get angry with each other. It's a shame about the dusty, chaotic, and slightly uncomfortable atmosphere, which perhaps feels a bit like a bowling alley, and which somewhat weighs down the €25 menu. Recommended if you're a Modenese aged sixty or older or just want to enjoy excellent tortellini without too many expectations.

We were here to celebrate a retirement; there were about 25 of us. The place is very basic, large, and unpretentious. The decor is nothing special, but the highlight is definitely the food. They had agreed on a price of €30 per person, and for that price, we ate really well: excellent spinach and ricotta tortelli, exceptional tagliatelle with meat sauce, handmade and with a taste of times gone by. For those who don't eat meat, there's no problem with tagliatelle with mushrooms. Then there's gnocco, rustic but very good tigelle, high-quality cured meats and cheeses, and lard. The portions were generous, actually more than expected. Water and Lambrusco galore, cakes, and coffee to finish. Service was quick and efficient despite the tables being full. Excellent value. The place is simple, no frills, but the cuisine is generous and sincere. Recommended.

Excellent food, very friendly place, friendly staff

The food is good and well-prepared. The place is quite dated. We found the bill a bit steep for what we ate, but given the location, we expected a bit less.

A simple venue with a retro feel, a true sports center where time seems to have stood still; for nostalgics. Multiple rooms for group dinners.
