Definitely an impressive place, it's a shame that it's very far from the center and a walk to reach it becomes quite 'challenging'. Having found the 'soloPerNoi' venue on a Wednesday evening in March... is priceless! However, it is better to book with The Fork, the discount never hurts!

I was curious to try this restaurant, whose owner has been churning out the best Schiacciata in Florence for years. The restaurant is inside a resort surrounded by greenery, renovated with good taste and attention to detail. It is located a few minutes' drive from Piazza dell'Impruneta and can therefore also be reached in a reasonable time from the Florence-Prato metropolitan area. I confess that I was afraid of finding a lot of form and little substance and even of coming away a little hungry, but that wasn't the case, because the dinner was "excellent and plentiful". The rich appetizers were in fact followed by pappardelle with wild boar (the pasta, rigorously fresh, is produced on site, as is the bread) and then the classic Impruneto peposo, in a generous portion and cooked to perfection with a side dish of beans, offered at a restaurant price. I then gave in to the temptation of the traditional Florentine zuccotto and it was worth it. For the wine, I asked the waiter to recommend a glass, but prestigious labels are available, both in the bottle and by the glass, a very appropriate choice in these difficult times. The dining room staff is welcoming and professional, ready to answer any questions about the dishes and to advise, without being intrusive. You have the feeling that here they are all professionals and not improvised restaurateurs. Above all, it seems to me that they are not trying to "pluck the chicken" (and then another one will arrive), but rather to create a loyal clientele. The owner Angelo, then, deserves a separate discussion: he constantly seeks perfection, with an undoubted competence and an almost old-fashioned elegance. After this dinner on December 17th I returned for the fixed menu Christmas lunch in a room with a fireplace, once again remaining fully satisfied. On this occasion I was accompanied by a family member suffering from disabling psychiatric pathologies, who was welcomed with a delicacy and elegance unfortunately not found elsewhere. Although he is absolutely harmless, his presence often aroused palpable and unjustified hostility from the staff and the manager, as if he were tarnishing the good name of the place. I suggest to them that they go up to the Sassi Neri to learn the respect due to every customer.

The famous Chef Bruno Barbieri says that the restaurants inside the Hotels/Resorts have something "something" more than the others... And I have to admit that he is absolutely right! Tonight I had dinner in this beautiful restaurant (inside the splendid Villa Cesi Resort) and I had a fantastic experience. I ate divinely, enjoying traditional Tuscan dishes prepared with excellent raw materials. I was put perfectly at ease by an incredibly professional and passionate staff. The whole Resort certainly transmits "good vibes" thanks certainly to a young and dynamic staff, but also thanks to some truly refined furnishing choices that make the place difficult to forget. Angelo Gallo with his sophisticated renovation has proven to be an entrepreneur worthy of his excellent reputation.

We stayed at the Hotel Villa Cesi for one night and visited this restaurant in the hotel in the evening. It wasn't well attended and we were almost alone there. We were served by 2 extremely nice waiters and had a very good meal there. There was even a Prosecco and a small appetizer for free. We particularly liked the decor, the food itself and the service there. Definitely a tip.

04/02/2024: Firenze è la patria della buon cucina. Tra i suoi vicoli puoi mangiare bene un po’ ovunque, che sia una schiacciata o una bella bistecca. Ma poi scorgi pseudo trattorie napoletane e pizzaioli improvvisati.. I cosiddetti locali acchiappa Turisti. Vedendo il nome di uno dei piatti più importanti della tradizione Romana su un insegna a Firenze, per di più di fronte all’antico ristorante Paoli, mi ha sollevato più di un dubbio.. ma la mia irrefrenabile voglia di Cacio e Pepè ha vinto. I dubbi ben presto vengono spazzati via, da un odore inconfondibile di Roma e un locale intimo che ben ti accoglie. Senza alcuna dubbio, qui puoi assaporare la miglior Cacio e pepe di Firenze ed è una delle migliori che abbia mai mangiato, Non è classica, molto più cremosa e delicata.. caratteristica del pecorino toscano che è molto più delicato di quello romano. I pici utilizzati sono spettacolari! La pasta è fresca e artigianale.
06/12/2023: Before our first ever trip to Italy I had done research on restaurants. I had a list for Florence. Based on the reviews as well as the gallery pictures I made a reservation for dinner through The Fork. My husband and I had dinner here on 9/4/2023-our first night in Florence. This place is not far from Piazza della Signoria. Our reservation was for 8:00 pm. Cute place and busy. When we arrived I showed our reservation print out to staff who seated us at a lovely table inside. Basket of bread brought to the table. Very good. menu has several options for all. Pasta is homemade. Drinks. My husband ordered a beer-Peroni Gran Reserva. I prefer wine so I got a glass of the Borgo Salcetino DOCG Chianti. Both of us were happy with our drink choices. We ordered a side salad to share. Variety of greens, tomatoes, black olives, cheese. Tasty but just a salad. For entrees I had read so much about this dish that I had to order it. Pici Cacio e pepe al Tartufo. I'm familiar with spaghetti but this pasta is thicker, more dense, more filling. This fresh pasta dish is made with cheese, pepper, and truffles. Lots of truffles. Truffles are a specialty of this place. It was cooked perfectly and good. I must admit however that this thicker pasta was not my favorite. I also discovered I'm not a fan of truffles! My husband ordered the Tagliolini artigianali ai Funghi Porcini e Tartufo fresco. This is a fresh pasta dish with porcini mushrooms and truffles. A nice balance of mushrooms and truffles. He loved it and agreed with me that the thiner pasta was better. Probably because that's what we're used to. After eating all that bread, the salad, and all that pasta-no room for dessert! Added information-looking closely at our plates we noticed it appeared as though the plate had been broken in half and another-with a different design-had been glued to it. But surprise! This is how the plate was designed! Very clever. Hats off to the restaurant! We really enjoyed our first dinner in Florence here. Nice ambiance. Excellent service. Very good food. Cost was a pleasant surprise as we got a discount off our food items by booking through The Fork! Nice. Cost 49.60€/$53.98.

Special Pizza

15/03/2024: Locale piccolo e niente di particolare.. Prenotato con the fork di martedì sera . Servizio veloce e cameriere gentile e simpatico . Pizza buona e ricca di condimenti . Piatti abbondanti e i prezzi molto onesti . Ci ritornerò appena avrò l occasione di essere a castekfiorentino
23/12/2023: Central pizzeria, right in front of the main square. I went with a friend of mine and we ate an appetizer, a first course, a pizza and a dessert. The starter was right with 2 types of crostini and mixed cold cuts, good. The pizza (speck and mascarpone) was good, very seasoned and I thought it was excellent that they spread the mascarpone instead of leaving it in chunks as many pizzerias do. The first was tagliatelle alla boscaiola (with fresh porcini mushrooms), very good and pasta cooked to perfection. Finally, for dessert, the chocolate truffle. It was definitely packaged but very good. The staff are excellent and make you feel at ease straight away without being too intrusive. As the place is not very large, I recommend booking. The bill was excellent!
