Ristorante San Pietro Barisano In Matera

It is located in the stones a few minutes walk from the entrance to the restricted traffic zone. Finding parking nearby is almost impossible so I recommend the multi-storey one in Via Saragat for 5 euros a day, and you can easily take the shuttle. The room is beautiful, very particular. Obviously it does not have a window as it is carved into the rock. The only two flaws were the comfort of the bed because the mattress wasn't the best and I don't know why but the slats were wider than the mattress and you hit your shins on them. And then the shower/tub which was positioned in a strange way as an access, in front of the bidet which you basically had to climb over. Wasn't it easier to put a shower tray??? 😅😅

A very interesting experience staying in a hotel built in a cave. Everything was stylish, clean and comfortable. Completely quiet. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the old town. The breakfast was rich and tasty. There are many cozy restaurants for dinner in the surrounding area. It is convenient to get to Sassi Barisano from the Saregat parking lot by bus, which stops a few minutes from the hotel. I definitely recommend.
