We were in Milan for errands and visits and looking for a restaurant to eat for lunch, I found Samarkand. A little intrigued by the Human Safari videos on Uzbek cuisine, we opted to try the cuisine of the "Silk Road" without going there. The place is really small, it has perhaps 16 seats. The atmosphere is characterized by traditional and typical Middle Eastern music. While waiting I enjoyed every detail offered, from the painting on the wall to the article and the photos. All. Then what we had ordered arrived. We didn't know what okra was. If they ask us what it tastes like, we can't say, but we really liked it. Even for my partner, who sometimes makes it difficult to make him eat vegetables! We then both had a plate of Persian rice with meat, raisins and freshly seared julienned carrots. People, I still dream about the explosion between sweet and savory in that dish today. Spectacular to say the least! We also had the mixed starter and even today, when people ask us the flavor of the sauces, we struggle to describe it, precisely because in the mouth it is an explosion of contrasts between flavors in a perfect balance that makes everything extremely delicious. Our fortune and misfortune: we live 3 hours' drive from there, unlike our friends who in a quarter of an hour on foot, if they wanted, could have dinner there every day.

The food was very good, the music was pleasant, the place was welcoming, the waitress was very helpful and kind. Advised.

Everything is very good, from appetizers to desserts, most are Persian flavors but there are also Usbek and Afghanis, after years away from the country we ate a lot of good Persian food, our Italian friends also liked it so much, we absolutely will return :-D

The food was very tasty and can only be recommended. The service was very friendly with good knowledge of English. The ambience completes the entire picture.

Sono stato un paio di volte per cena con amici e mi sono sempre trovato bene. Abbiamo provato diversi antipasti e piatto unici. Tutto molto buono, spiedini di carne preparati al momento ( in un altro posto più rinomato dove sono stato un’altra volta erano riscaldati….). Essendo “halal” non servono bevande alcoliche, però c’è birra analcolica. Porzioni abbondanti, prezzo accettabile, la signora che ci ha servito è stata gentilissima. Come tutti i locali è meglio andare durante la settimana. Prenotare in anticipo.

A delightful place! Excellent Iranian, Afghan, Uzbek dishes... in short, Persian, for those who don't know they were once all Persia. The managers were very courteous and polite, and they created a family environment for us Iranians and also for Afghans. The stews with vegetables and meat are excellent but also the various types of Kabab. The starters are also excellent.

I have to give it to them great job I drove 30 minutes to get here and it's worth it I will definitely be back inshallah.

Amazing staff and such amazing food. I highly recommend for everyone.

It's not my kind of cuisine, but I spent an evening in company and enjoying something different from the usual menu. However I enjoyed dinner 🥰
