The cheese focaccia for lunch is excellent.

I stayed one night at the Aiona refuge; the girls were very welcoming. They prepared a generous portion of tagliatelle with mushrooms and a delicious Recco-style focaccia for dinner. The rooms are very quaint and charming, and the bathroom was spotless. When we woke up, we found the table set with breakfast served. A wonderful experience.

I stayed years ago, the dorms were quite spartan. I know the management has changed, and recently I only stopped for a sandwich and I must say I had a great time.

Today I went to the refuge with my father after hiking Mount Aiona. From the Spingarda Pass, the refuge is a wonderful 10-minute walk on an easy, flat road through the woods. The completely renovated refuge was a delightful surprise for us! Mrs. Daiana was very kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home right away! How wonderful the warmth of the fireplace, the homemade bread baked with so much love, turmeric and potato bread stored in a gorgeous antique wooden cupboard! The generous platter of cured meats and cheeses, the vast selection of teas and herbal teas, delicious homemade desserts, cakes, panna cotta with local berries, tiramisu tarts, all fresh! Delicious local herbal liqueur was kindly offered by Mrs. Daiana! Everything was spotless and well-kept, the bathroom was super clean! Beautiful rooms, all in wood, high-mountain style, very clean and stocked with blankets and duvets, wide panoramic views of the mountains and valley, and a surprise! The little wooden houses, "look up", with roofs that "can be retracted" to see the starry sky! We can't wait to return to this fairytale mountain refuge, and hopefully soon!

Excellent, kind, and welcoming. Plus, the cheese focaccia is amazing. It's located near the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri trails and other trails that might use Mount Aiona as a reference point.

It was a wonderful stop... a place immersed in nature and an overwhelming air... peaceful... full of silence... we ate really well... an unforgettable cheese focaccia and dessert... made with so much passion... the managers are welcoming people of great simplicity... everything was excellent, compliments... even the orange liqueur made by them... I wholeheartedly recommend stopping at this refuge... thanks again

It's a truly special place for me. The hospitality, food, and service are fantastic. Highly recommended.

The refuge has been refurbished, the food is good, and the service is also good. They've installed star boxes outside for stargazing...a great idea for an alternative night out.
