Ristorante Porta Messina In Messina

When I just came in, I thought it’s a bakery and various cooked food for take out. However you can dine in here with freshly made dishes. We ordered Arancini, Pesce Spada alla Ghiotta, Frittura di pesce and cozze, come with sour dough bread, local Messina bra and white wine. Foods at absolutely delicious, the young waiter is great and speaks good English. Highly recommended if you, like me, are taking cruise ride to Messina, this is a fantastic local restaurants that provide very delicious sea foods.

We were having lunch today with 4 people during our visit to Taormina on the Cruise stopover and the truth is that everything we ordered was very good, the place was charming and the service was very attentive, especially Lorenzo who treated us in a classy way.

Historic place in Messina. Over the years I have always eaten very well, the dishes based on stockfish and the baked pasta are highly recommended, as well as the rustici and in general everything that the house offers. Unfortunately lately it's been losing steam, I don't know if it's due to the current management. I had to get a cold drink with cream and after they made me pay for it they told me that there was no cream or coffee granita and they showed up with cold coffee taken from a bottle. I hope it was an occasional oversight and that there is a way to prove it wrong later on other occasions.

Took a cooking class. I would give them a 100 stars if I could. What an AMAZING experience. Giovanni, Paolo and Luca were beyond gracious, charming, engaging and super fun. We prepared homemade pasta, fish, eggplant parmigiana, stuffed zucchini and an anchovy dish. In between preparations, we had unlimited white and red wine and a beautiful charcuterie plate. The day started in the kitchen where Giovanni walked us through how to prepare their beautiful sauce. They then showed us how to prepare all the various dishes in such a fun and pleasant way. Finally we sat down to eat our masterpieces. The ambience was amazing. The table setting was lovely. And the price was right given the amazing experience. Don’t hesitate to book this.

For just €26 we ate for two, choosing a plate of spaghetti with seafood and a mixed fry, with a Coca Cola and a coffee. The spaghetti was rich in flavour, with fresh and well-cooked seafood, while the mixed fried food was crispy and light, without being too greasy. The staff was welcoming and helpful, and the service was quick. Perfect for those looking for quality without spending too much. Recommended!

5* food, any dish chosen in the restaurant area is delicious. 1* The bathrooms, it feels like entering the old latrines. Sin!!
