I stopped in at this trattoria to try the "scarpariello" and I have to say it exceeded my expectations; the pan-fried anchovies and the pizza were also delicious. What's even better is the location beneath Trajan's Arch, where you can feel the historic atmosphere of Benevento. Prices are average; reservations are recommended.

Excellent experience at Traiano. Perfect location just a few meters from Trajan's Arch, one of Benevento's most important monuments. Warm welcome. Kind and professional staff. Excellent food, especially the Genovese and Scarpariello. Delicious meat dishes, with a wide selection of side dishes. Everything was delicious. Recommended.

Near the imposing Arch of Trajan, this historic restaurant offers excellent traditional Benevento cuisine. Excellent appetizers and scarpariello are served, all topped off by the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner, Paolo, and Franco. We'll definitely be back! Highly recommended.

Ate here 3 times on the trot. Food was excellent. Gets popular about 8.30pm so recommend coming a bit earlier. Insalata caprese, insalate di polpo, baccala, fettucine con gamberi e limone. All excellent. About 25 euro head.

The restaurant is located near an important historical monument that is the symbol of the city. The staff, led by the owner Paolo, is friendly and professional, and above all, offers excellent advice on the dishes available to all customers. The wood-fired pizza is worth trying. The other dishes, believe me, are exquisite and worth trying. The food quality and price are excellent, and I highly recommend it to anyone in Benevento. Good, very good, and excellent. Normally, the more you feel full, the lower your rating. However, this time I was pleasantly surprised. I'm still blown away by the dessert... For the record: a historic restaurant in the center of Benevento with friendly and helpful staff (the owner's right-hand man is kind, helpful, and friendly. I can't thank him enough for looking for me and finding some parmigiana that was already on the buffet). Honestly, a makeover wouldn't hurt. But if something works, why change it? Let posterity judge...

A "homey" restaurant. The owner actually thinks he's at home and makes quite a racket. But he's friendly. The food is excellent. Plenty of self-service appetizers and vegetables. The waiter is very kind and helpful. Fairly priced. Highly recommended.

The menu was appreciated by all the guests for its quality, variety, and originality.
