Interesting little place in Barrea. Typical dishes with fresh and tasty products. The only flaw is the portions, decidedly modest (but adequate for the price). Otherwise a good experience, I recommend it if you are not very hungry.

Molti piatti tipici e con ingredienti locali. Molto buone gli gnocchetti acqua e farina con gli orapi (si tratta di una verdura locale simile agli spinaci e che viene raccolta localmente proprio dai Barreani). Gentilissima la cameriera e prezzi onesti

Passing through Barrea, the only one open on Monday and it was a discovery. Excellent food, friendly and efficient staff. We had a good time!!

We ordered 4 soups of chickpeas, porcini mushrooms and potatoes for 8.50 euros per portion but only the aroma of potatoes and mushrooms and there were very few chickpeas in the dish... the flavor was good but it could be considered an appetizer

We stayed at the Bear's Den in the first week of October and we had a GREAT time!
We recommend it in every respect: kind and friendly staff and service, more than honest prices also considering the quality of the food, normal portions.
For two side dishes and three second courses (slice with cheese, roasted scamorza and kebabs, handmade, really excellent) and a bottle of water, we spent €37: prices which, honestly, I haven't seen around for a long time, considering Above all, everything was EXCELLENT!
Absolutely recommended!!! 🥰

La mitica Teresa, oramai affiancata in pianta stabile dalla figlia Antonia, propone piatti della tradizione locale: ottime zuppe con verdure dell'orto familiare, cillitti con gli orapi, carne alla brace, scamorza arrosto e la sera anche pizze (ma non le paste asciutte).
Ho assiaggiato anche uno squisito formaggio alla mentuccia selvatica, veramente una chicca.
Servizio sempre cordiale e amichevole.
