A unique atmosphere inside one of Bologna's few surviving towers. Pizza and Neapolitan cuisine. An excellent experience for tourists seeking the perfect blend of Bolognese culture.

They were very nice people, the food was delicious. They have high chairs for children and were very welcoming towards our toddler. The pasta was the best we've had in Italy. It's a nice atmosphere, and despite being in a busy area, it's reasonably priced.

We stumbled upon Ristorante Pizzeria Scalinatella in Bologna while looking for a good pizza spot, and we couldn’t have been luckier. The pizzas were absolutely fantastic—great flavor, generous portions, and excellent quality. Service was decent, and we also noticed they offer a wide range of pasta dishes, though we were in the mood for pizza and this place delivered perfectly. On top of that, the value for money is outstanding considering both the size and quality of the food. A real gem if you’re craving authentic pizza in Bologna!

Personale gentile e sorridente, servizio buono, ottimi consigli. Pizza buona, digeribile, pomodoro eccezionale. Consiglio però di non bruciare la pasta della pizza, ha un cattivo sapore, fa male alla salute, oltre a non essere bello da vedere.

16/11/2025: Even high quality must have the right price. High-quality food, all very good, but at a decidedly too high price (for the location and simplicity of the dishes).
13/11/2025: It's possible this restaurant was once good (Michelin 2009, 2010, and 2011). But unfortunately, I can't recommend it today. While the service was attentive, we received some of the wrong dishes, the meat was served lukewarm, and the wine was okay. At this price point, these are unacceptable mistakes, especially when the restaurant is about an hour outside of Bologna (by car).

03/10/2025: Excellent cuisine of the interesting local Bolognese tradition that enhances an ancient rural farm
01/10/2025: A good restaurant near Bologna, just steps from the parish church from which it takes its name. Ample parking, and open for both lunch and dinner. The restaurant has both ground and first floors. The dishes are Emilian cuisine with a few outside-the-region excursions. Everything is good, as you'd expect from an Emilian restaurant. The service is efficient: upstairs, the waiters use the elevator (the kitchen is on the ground floor) and a trolley to serve and clear the dishes. The bill is in the "fair/high" range. Local and business clientele.
