Nearing the end of our two week vacation in Italia which included Roma, Costa d’ Amalfi, Calabria and Cefalu we finally made the stop I have been looking forward to the most. A visit to the birthplace of my great grandfather, Novara di Sicilia. I could not be happier sitting here writing this just hours after our late afternoon lunch at this beautiful family owned restaurant in the heart of the town at the end of a maze of gorgeous old world charm narrow streets. I can honestly say it was the best meal we had during the entire trip. My wife enjoyed the Orecchiette Pistachio which had a depth of flavor and seasoning that not even my experienced pallet could identify. I had the mixed grilled sausage and meat platter that cannot be satisfactorily described with words. The sausages were loaded with fennel seed and other herbs and the meat grind was unlike anything you will find in the U.S. A few glasses of Prosecco and Tartufo Bianco to finish made this a meal I will never forget.
