17/05/2024: What an amazing afternoon. We stopped in this tiny town to visit the castle, which was closed. Took a walk around and decided we might try for a bite at the local restaurant. It was a quiet day for them, mostly devoted to cleaning and celebrating the hostess’s birthday, however, they welcomed us instantly. Over the next five hours, they shared curated meats and cheeses, made homemade buckwheat pasta and shared everything their village and countryside produced with us. The gastronomic tour also included wines, Muscato, moonshine, grappa, lemoncello, and something distilled from apples, which was delicious. Simona and Luca are beautiful people, live in a beautiful place, and love sharing their town and Village. While working to regain our equilibrium after the meal and generous libations, Luca took us on a walking tour of the village and the castle grounds. It was a quiet afternoon when we visited, but absolutely an experience we will remember forever. Highly highly highly recommend.
